The problem with Gnar is that the fun way to build him isn't viable because he's the squishiest champ in the game. "BUT DAT MEGA GNAR DOUGH!" How long exactly does Mega Gnar last? Not long enough is the answer to that. Someone crunched the numbers, and he loses against carries in terms of survivability, and that's not even who he's up against. He's up against Jayce, Teemo, and possibly Quinn and Vayne. And each champion murders him in terms of survivability. Let that sink in. Vayne.
, arguably the possesor of the worst laning phase in the game (whoops
) second worst laning phase in the game, beats Gnar in terms of health. I should be building Gnar as a scrappy bruiser: Triforce, Sunfire, Banshee's, Infinity Edge, Yomumu's/BORK, you get the idea. Instead, I'm pidgeonholed into a full tank build on a ranged champion that has a mediocre slow on his Q. Unless you're Ryze, ranged tanks simply don't work. So until Gnar gets his damage and base health buffed, I question your sanity on calling Gnar "probably even more OP than Tristana is", especially considering the fact that Tristana has one of the safest early games in the game. A nice leftover of a poor balance choice of the Jax era that Riot made a huge oopsie by buffing Tristana into viability. Now Tristana Is doing was Jax did, having a farm happy, incredibly safe early game, followed by turning into an unstoppable force of nature that can't be derailed by even someone like Vayne.
