Afraid of going into PvP, an autobiography.

This has been posted so many times (and by that I mean I saw like 11 threads which I read by googling things) but I'm posting this again because the most recent post that I saw was August 2014 so, things have changed since then, right? Now, to the point.

I'm afraid of playing PvP for a number of reasons. 1) I basically have been playing bots the whole time I've been playing league (I'm level 18 as of right now) 2) The times I have played PvP (I don't even remember when the last time was) I was constantly yelled at :/ and 3) I have no idea how to make friends to ease myself into PvP a little better.

So basically, I feel like I'm kinda hopeless at this point since I'm afraid of making people lose games and all that jazz. I don't really know where to start playing PvP (I've read people say to play ARAM but I solely play Jinx so I have no idea how that'll go). Any tips would be very nice.

Just go into it lmao. If people start being toxic just mute them. If you want a support add me and we can duo sometime but other than that I really suggest just diving into it like I did when I had the same problem you had.

Ah, if we could duo, that would be awesome! I'll be sure to add you soon.

Yeah that'd be great! I can't duo or accept the request (Unless I find someway to accept it away from the computer) until tomorrow, since my computer stays at my grandmothers and I go to my dads in the afternoon to sleep and eat and all that stuff.

well since you play jinx make sure you go bot lane with her. Honestly the best way to get into pvp is just to jump in. If people are harassing you just mute them, communication isn't important in low elo so don't worry. As for winning and losing don't worry about it, focus on the fundamentals like last hitting and poking enemies, etc. The more you play the more comfortable it gets. Remember everyone was new at the game at one point so jump in and just have fun.

Thanks for the tips! And I guess I will try going for it. Hopefully they're not as bad as I think it'll be.

No, it will be. But remember, it can AND WILL be worse later.

League isn't about having fun. It's pain and suffering and disease and death. But it's also glorious triumph when you crush your enemies.

Good to know.

There is literally no other way to learn this game than to just play it, get your ass handed to you over and over, read guides, apply them, get stomped any way, realize what the guide was talking about, go back in again, get REALLY stomped, realize the guide was months out of date and no longer applies, get yelled at by everyone, called all kinds of horrible things, receive many a death threat to yourself and your mother and gradually, inch by inch, you learn the absurd complexities of this game and how to exploit them for victory. Which matchups you win, which you don't, how to play against all the different combos you can meet, when to expect junglers to come kill you, all that stuff. There's no way to learn it but to do it.

I'll keep all of that in mind lol.

You should watch a couple tutorials on Youtube. The ones you get from the Client are garbage.

Just learn from every mistake.

I've read up on a couple guides, but I'll do that too!

I don't know what level of knowledge you currently have so its kind of hard to help you out. But if I had to assume you have absolutely no Moba experience and are new to the genre and game, here is what I would tell you:

In any Moba, there is what people refer to as a ''meta''. The meta is simply the current trend, and it tends to shuffle around as the game is constantly ''balanced''.

The macro-meta in League of Legends has always been around a Tank or Fighter in top lane, a Mage, Assassin, Fighter or Tank in the jungle, a Mage or Assassin in the mid lane, and a Marksman and Support in the bottom lane. Then again, that tends to move around as the game is constantly shifting trends, but its what you will see in 99% of the cases.

The basic premise of the game is to destroy the enemy nexus. Simple right? Yet some people forget the obvious principle that Objectives > Farm > Kills. That is the most forgotten fact in low elo games. People chase around for kills and forget to play for towers, dragons and inhibitors. Knowing to prioritize these in the right order is half the job.

You shouldn't be afraid of playing PvP. We all sucked at first. We all ran under a turret for a kill. Just try, and mute the toxics.

1 thing. JUST DO IT. I hate PVP games but somehow I can play league. Also doesnt matter what kind of online game you play, you can pretty much just expect to get yelled at. At low elos just mute people and play, but eventually the higher elo you get the more understanding people are. being only level 18 dont expect to know exactly what you do, with this game you learn alot simply by just playing.
