LP Ratio. Please HELP1!!

So here's the thing. Last season I was placed Silver 5. Now for many, many reasons... I was dropped down to Bronze 2. The first time because I got so mad I stopped playing for a month and a half. came back and.. yeah. it was bad. This season I didn't play preseason. When I DID play I won 5/10 games pretty hard. I carried as Jinx. THREE of the lost games I carried but we lost by a hair. I got placed Bronze 5. I didn't understand it, but I said W/E. I'll rank up. I got to Bronze 4 pretty easily. But now I'm getting approximately 18 LP per game. And I'm still doing really well. Last game was like 3/5/17 Voli support. Not wonderful but not terrible. But every game this tier I'm getting 18 LP for wins... and -17 to -23 LP per loss.

PLEASE help me understand this. I'm getting so mad that it's taking me forever to climb up.

short answer: your MMR is higher than your rank.

edit: MMR is lower than rank.

Don't you mean his current rank is higher then his mmr? Unless the systems changed, you get equal LP earnings, say +/- 20 for a win/loss. If your mmr is LOWER then where you were placed, like your example, it means that you might deserve to be in b5 (mmr wise). Since your win/loss ratio isn't that high, your current rank is close to your mmr, so if you keep winning you should equalize. Your w/l ratio isn't as bad as some people I've seen asking about this lol. Yours is pretty decent.

i think you got that backwards.

i believe if you win 2 out of 3 games your mmr will eventually rise

I don't know why people continue to spread the lies that Riot tells them. The LP gain/loss is mostly random.

As for you being placed in Bronze when you were Silver last season, that's because every player was placed a tier below their previous season rank. Here is a list that shows your placements for this season after provisionals: http://www.nerfplz.com/2015/01/what-did-ranked-really-reset-do.html

LP has nothing to do with how well or poorly you do, it's just mmr. If you keep winning more often, eventually you'll start gaining more while losing less.
