Any way to make solo queuing as a support main even playable?

I play support main and I've just recently hit level 30. Is there any way you could make this game even remotely playable as a solo queue support without me getting brain dead idiots who just feed and AFK? Every time I see a Ryze mid without flash and a Teemo ADC in ranked champion select I already feel like dodging, but i'll be penalized for other people's mistakes. I know everyone says "but you can carry with a support" and sure that's true, a support can determine who wins. But when a full AD Aatrox top and the rest of your entire team feeds while refusing to surrender it becomes impossible. and there's 40 extra minutes of me bored out of my mind watching my team die over and over but I'll get banned if I afk or leave because I'll be "hurting the team". If the whole game play mechanic of snowballing like crazy by getting fed wasn't there it would be a lot easier to carry people who are terrible. I sound pretty salty I know. I have seen some really good people that I have fun playing with while playing with 2 gold friends, but when I solo queue it's so rare to get anyone who even has the mental ability to dress themselves. It's amazing these people are intelligent enough to turn on their computer and use a keyboard. Riot says things like "Players who verbally abuse their teammates lose 16% more games. Players who curse at their teammates lose 13% more games." But it's backwards. Players who lose because of absolute morons on their team are more likely to get fed up with this entire game because of the terrible pre-platinum community and start verbally abusing and cursing at their terrible feeding brainless team. This is a team game, so solo queue ranked makes NO SENSE because you're ranked based on you and the team you get. But you completely roll the dice on your team! And most of the community of this game are terrible. If you're not playing a role that can carry entire games then playing pre-platinum is annoying and a waste of time. I just want to play without pouring all of my time getting through bronze silver and gold for the game to actually be enjoyable. I'll just keep playing with a team of 5 friends who can think until you can touch up your game a bit and pay attention to the low ELO community. But I would like for one day for this game to be playable alone!

Imagine you are a support beam holding up a house. You're a strong support and you're great at holding houses! But imagine you don't choose what kind of roof you're holding up. If you're a support for a house with a roof and walls made of cardboard it's going to fall down anyway. But then all the carpenters call you a bad support because your house fell down and you are ranked bronze forever.

Support main here.

It's like giving monkeys rocket science. I mean, when I throw down my lantern as Thresh and instead of grabbing it you FLASH PAST IT AND DIE, don't blame me. Sorry if I'm 0/3 because if I take a single kill you'll scream at me. Don't bother to look at the 14 assists I have.

When I die for someone, they always yell at me saying they had it. When I don't bother, they yell at me for not suiciding to save them.

Sorry buddy. I'm the one who's over here with 1.2k HP, no resistances, playing Peek-a-boo with a 11/0 Fiora that YOU fed, running through the jungle for 45 seconds.

I'm the one who has no gold whatsoever, yet has to venture into the unknown to place WARDS (which I have to buy) without any knowledge of whether or not Yi and Zed are sitting in that bush or not.

I was very excited to do ranked at one point.. then my first game I was playing Caitlyn adc, i had an Ashe support, which was very annoying.. our top was a Teemo and our mid was a Ezreal , it was one of the worst matches I've ever played ashe fed teemo didnt even know what he was doing .. after that match I decided ranked was overrated and went back to unranked xD ...... I dont have much advice for a support in ranked I have a friend who really likes playing karma support, basically just don't get pissed off by the people who blame everything on the support and play your best that's all the advice I could give you lol

Many parts of the league community are pretty brainless, maybe try to find a group of higher level player friends like I did, that will help immensely :) (they can teach you, they are nice, and good team work.. It all works out)

I see most people blame jungle for losing their lanes. I find it funny because when the match starts everyone is even and I'll useally be top seeing bot or mid crying that the jugle not ganking their lane every second is the reason they lost thier lane.

I joined ranked late last season. I managed to carry myself to Gold I by mainly using Soraka in not more than a 8 days. I consider support like Thresh even more easy to win games with when played well.

I dare say its you.

In lower Elos support are even more valuablt than carries. A carry can't farm unless his support protects him. Not to mention that granting strategical vision is key to winning. As a support I also ping the enemy jungler for my whole team not my lane and call objectives.

That's because Soraka is rediculous xD "Soraka is throwing out heals every 1.8 seconds! we need to nerf!" -nerfs base damage, buffs heal twice-
