Rant on Sona and Supports in General...

Sona Sona- Not even a support anymore provides too much damage with Q and honestly takes no skill as the player simply needs to press q and damage is ensured. Just previously (if you check my nice match history) I of course lost bot lane instantly due to Sona's quick mobility, powerful shield, effective heals, and her ult's burst. Sure Sona may lose mana quickly but her damage given off is insane and worth the trade off. I feel as if the role in this current meta is failing as it is now portrayed as which support can do the most damage and let the adcs pick off the kills. RIP: Janna Nami Alistar

I know I might sound like I'm crying, but please evaluate what I just said and if you don't believe me ask someone to be a Sona support to see for yourself. :)

Issue: Role of support is lost I can ask any adc player and they would agree: How well did you do when your support did all the damage? Answer: Very. This is why Ryze Ryze, Annie Annie, Nautilus Nautilus, Volibear Volibear, and many more aggressive mock supports became popular. Shouldn't the roles be reversed? Aren't the adcs suppose to be doing the damage and the support is suppose to "support" the adc?

TLDR: No skill in Q and 2 much dmg-------supports don't support they do all dmg...

I can't believe anybody is complaining about Sona being too strong. I'm a Lulu main and I remember when Sona hard-counterd Lulu in the support role, but now I can beat a Sona effortlessly because of how weak she is.

I hate sona support. Not because it's good, but because it's bad. she has no cc at all unless her ult is up. If i see someone takes sona, then I take nami, because she's way more useful.

Supports that have high utility Janna Nami Nautilus aren't falling off........because they have good utility. Nami is pretty versatile as well, has good cc, peel, and heals. I even like Shen support.

Where have you seen Ryze support....? because in all 3, almost 4 years of this game, I've never seen ryze support...even as a troll pick.

voli support fell out because morgana exists, anti cc shield, because that's ALL voli has to offer, is his flip. He can't poke, can't heal, can't do anything but flip. big whoop-dee-doo.

annie can easily get out poked because she's all in and her range isn't that great.

So, if I'm understanding what you are saying, you wish that Sona's Q, Hymn of Valor, did less damage?

Hymn of Valor:

Active: Deals 40/80/120/160/200 (+50% Ability Power) magic damage to the nearest two enemies (prioritizes Champions). Sona gains an aura that grants allies** 0 (+20% Ability Power)** additional magic damage on their next attack for** 5 seconds**. Sona's aura lasts** 3 seconds **and is extended by **0.5 seconds **for each ally she aids. Power Chord - Staccato: Deals **40% bonus power chord damage. **

40 Damage at level one, one of the lowest damaging abilities among the support class. There is NO way Sona will chunk someone early unless A) She has a lot of ability power, leaving her extremely vulnerable B) You have 0 magic resist C) You are letting her get the second part of her Hymn of Valor on you C) It proc'd Thunderlords Decree.

If you see a Sona coming up to you with her Power Chord charged up, why not tell your support / adc to focus her as she comes in range? As for her damage compared to other supports: You don't know who Zilean is do you? He can do WAY more damage than Sona and provide WAY more utility.

I literally stopped reading when you said "powerful shield and effective heals" they are literally the fucking worst numbers on league for a shield/heal infact if you consider sonas w a "heal" then relic shield teemo is a sustain support and all 140 champ on this game are sustain supports becasue relic shield actually out heals sonas W and doesnt require you to spend 400 mana to heal from 150 hp (actual numbers)

sona also has the lowest burst of bot lane with 40 dmg q level 1

you are just uhhh..... "inexperienced" at this game and have absolutely no clue how to lane vs a sona

spoilers: for such an easy champion only 3-4 people in the entire NA server can play her at a high level and not feed every game

everyone else (including challenger players) get shit on and go 0-10 the second they even ATTEMPT to play sona in high elo
