Lose 26 LP, Gain 2 LP Glitch?

Iv stopped playing ranked lately because of the fact that each loss i lose 22-26 LP and only gain 2-9 LP. This has caused me to fall back into Silver and i was wandering is this an error or whats going on? My name is grubz in game.

Seems like your MMR dropped a long way below your current division.

I wonder, did you get an eloboost? Or did you return after a long absence? Because, unlike ranking (in gold and below), MMR decays over time.

your real rating is masked by LP. LP isn't your real rating. you probably lost 10-20 games after you reached gold 5 and 0 LP. while your LP stayed at gold 5 and 0 LP during that stretch, your real rating tanked. your LP losses will remain greater than your LP gains until your LP matches your real rating. lolking shows you have a lot more losses than wins right now. you will need to get back to around a 50% win rate before your LP gains match your LP losses.

This same thing happened to me, I was plat 3, stopped playing for a while and my MMR decayed so I was losing 22-26 LP as well and only gaining like 8. I'm back to the point where i gain and lose the same amount but you just have to win a good amount of games to bring your MMR back up.

It just means you tanked your MMR and the system doesn't think you belong where you are. Thus, it makes you lose a lot more LP than you gain. If you start winning more, the LP gains and losses will start to be closer to each other.

to fall from gold to silver your MMR was at a S5 rating. You have lost to many games and the system is trying to aggressively correct your placement. The only way to stop this is to win consistently in ranked. This will slowly raise your MMR.
