Is Jhin mid (still) a thing?

Hello boards,

Lately, I have been pretty adamant about playing everyone's favorite 4-obsessed psycho-artist Jhin However, Since I am not a big fan of the bottom lane, I was wondering is playing him mid was a decent idea.

I have heard some people say it was good, but most of the impressions were given right after his release. Is Jhin mid still doable despite all the nerfs he took?

If so,how would you guys advise me to play him?

Thanks in advance for the responses!

I think it's still playable, but I wouldn't recommend it in this meta. With junglers like Vi Hecarim running around its a pretty risky pick.

Jhin's main problem mid is that he's very immobile and has fairly short range wave-clear. This is totally fine against some matchups, but if their midlane or jungler has particularly good cc or gap-closers, you're going to be ganked incessantly. Unlike botlane, your traps are nowhere near enough to cover all the entrances to midlane, so you can be a very easy target. I love playing Jhin, but I wouldn't take him mid myself. Go Varus or something, where you have very strong long-range waveclear and very reliable ult cc: you'll do much better.

It all depends on his opponent and the enemy jungler. AA based champs do good early on against mages but eventually that tide turns and can do so rather rapidly. He's also a sitting duck if Hecarim, Vi or even Olaf come by often.

Yeah just make sure you ban every assasin, syndra, lee sin, hecarim, vi and several long range mages and you should be safe mid without a support
