Twisted Treeline BOTs/AI - How to find them

AFK Isopod··7 votes·6,578 views

Over the past few years, Twisted Treeline (3v3) has basically been forgotten. Some will play Flex for extra Ranked rewards, but everyone tends to stay away from Blind. Why is it you may ask?

BOTs

These filthy shits roam the place, almost impossible to escape them. Sometimes you'll get lucky and have a fair 3v3, and most times its a 2v3. What's also funny is that Riot hasn't really done anything about them. They look like normal accounts, but all of their actions are done off screen in a possible program.

What do BOTs do in these game modes? Well, similar to Riot BOTs, but worse:

  • They run down a random lane, no real order in particular
  • Attack minion waves, but not the player
  • Never flash away or try to escape efficiently when confronted
  • And repeat for the entire game, giving the other team 15 free kills at the minimum

However, I have found a way to determine if your teammates are BOTs before loading, possibly allowing you to dodge. Its not rocket science, but almost all accounts follow these strict rules:

  • They have one of the 5 default champion icons ( Darius, Lux, Master Yi, Miss Fortune, Ahri )
  • Their runes are NEVER correct for their champ, or at least aren't optimized. ( ex. Veigar with Press the Attack )
  • Their summoner spells are very limited, mostly Exhaust and Ghost, but there are rare chances of a mix-up
  • They NEVER talk. No matter how hard you flame them, you will NEVER get a response. ( Possible Riot punching bag AI? )
  • All of their items are randomized. I have no clue how they decide what to buy, but they do buy things...
  • Most of their usernames have random letters in them, not spelling anything I can read at the least.
  • And most importantly, they somehow give an honor at the end. I have no clue about this one, but its usually random who they select.

So you may be asking, why? Why would there be such a massive storm of AI roaming 3v3 Blind? What could there be to gain?

EXP. FUCKING EXP.

Its so crazy, but EXP grinding is important because you can get capsules, allowing you to practically unlock all the champs you want by grinding for 50+ levels. And apparently, running it down a lane and feeding the enemy team is 100% OK with Riot. Hell, I could get a program tomorrow then run it while I'm away at work, and I'll NEVER get banned. I sent countless reports, not a single notification confirming I was right. Its as if Riot just takes the inbox of 3v3 reports and "Clears Spam" every day.

In the end, Twisted Treeline is a relic, history into Riot's balancing at its finest. Similar to Dominion, BOTs have taken over completely. Maybe with the creation of Nexus Blitz, poor old 3v3 will become another nail in the coffin, just like some other content they created.

Fixed and improved with better camps. But we need more modes not less. But this is a good topic for Riot to investigate.

How you can see before loading what items they will buy before loading? How you know they are bots and not a noob or a booster that simply dont talk? And you can see all those before loading. TT needs a map update like the SR got. Maybe get a little better itemization or Nexus Blitz items i dont know. But TT is a great mode to be honest (3vs3) and short map with plenty of fights.

Twisted Treeline Blind is indeed infested. It’s real bad when you’re the only human player on both teams. But the map can be fun with a little attention, so I don’t want to see it removed.

The other reason it probably shouldn’t be removed...yet....is that it seems most of the bots are located there. If you outright remove it, they’ll either migrate into ARAM or Summoner’s Rift blind, making things worse for more people. While Twisted Treeline is dated, and low on human players, it’s currently protecting the 5v5s from endless hordes of bots. Until they can be detected earlier and better, which is difficult, keeping Blind Pick TT at least as a buffer is for the benefit of many.

I feel like people would play it if Riot dealt with the bots. If you remove TT, it'll only be a matter of time until you remove ARAM, and then finally Summoner's Rift. There won't be a game left. The bots will have completely taken over.

I agree that normal 3v3's is a nightmare. I only play ranked now and haven't seen a bot in over a year. I feel bad for people who love the map but don't want to play ranked.

The presence of bots in TT is not a valid reason for its removal as it won't solve the bot problem at all. They'll just move to aram or SR, and for this reason riot probably likes them in 3's so they don't pollute their other game modes.

I play every once in awhile on my main but i never really noticed bots until i made a secondary account where it seems like almost every game is all bots. makes for easy s tho if your farming chests.

I think it is the other way around. BECAUSE the population is so low bots exist there. Just remove the mode and give us something else. None plays that shit anyway. I bet NB had at least 5x more population than TT during its up-time. I bet even ARAM has at least 2x more games which means like 3,5x player population

I just don't get it, why would you bother with bots? What do they bring, other than farming capsules, which are not that worth anyway, they just give you champs?

People doing this sell those accounts?

More than likely, yes, to players who are looking to smurf OR players who have been banned and are willing shell out the clams for an account that won't take long to level up and bring it to their standards of playing. Meaning they'll start 'fresh' on a new account packed with the champions they want.

It's even more convenient because runes no longer cost IP (or in today's times BE) so once they have the champ pools the desire and the requirements to enter ranked, they're back in business. And if they're banned for using a bought account or so on, thecycle repeats. You'd be surprised with how much money is effectively 'stolen' from game companies because of botters, regardless of the genre, esports/competitive to MMORPGs.

2019 - still no difference... its super annoying bc its a fun little game that dont take so much tryhardness to play. And the bots are still there. I would rather have they removed TT and put in AFURF permanently. I love that mood and now there is only the teamfight tactics bs. Or just switch between the events that work instead.

PLS RIOT DO SOMETHING
