The higher the elo, the worse the teammates. At least in silver.

Silver 1 to Silver 3 to Silver 1 to Silver 3 to Silver 1 to Silver 3. By this time last season I was Gold 3.

Anyone else find this to be true? Just like last season, I am streaky AF in ranked, will literally follow up 8 wins in a row with 8 losses in a row, with minimal variance in my own performance. It's getting tiresome.

For my part, I'm not toxic in chat, and I use the mute button to stop the toxicity of others from tilting my own play. Additionally, when I queue with friends in gold/plat, it doesn't seem like I'm facing more difficult opponents than in solo.

Am I missing some hidden mechanic that affects how games are matched in solo ranked?

I'm not really expecting anything insightful, I'm sure plenty of people will respond with some version of git gud. Just gotta vent some frustration with the maddening streakyness of this game.

Nope. Made it back to Gold with absolutely no issues. I'd still rather have a full team of Silver 1s than a full team of G5s though. People stop trying once they make it to the border they wanted
