Normal Game MMR and Summoner Spell CDs in Champ Select
I have two suggestions and will list them separately with context for each.
First off is a Normal Game MMR reset function.
Proposition: Normal MMR gets a soft reset at the end of every month based off of your ranked MMR. There are probably a lot of potential negative side effects that I haven't thought of, but thought I'd share the idea.
Context: I am a Plat player and have been for three seasons. Pretty much all of my friends that were of a similar skill level have stopped playing League in the past year, so I don't play normals with them anymore. If I play with anyone, it's IRL friends who are low Gold to low Silver. This has tanked my normals MMR drastically, so queuing alone is really unpleasant. I still get matched against players of low Plat or high Gold but my team will be several tiers lower. This is absolutely my own fault and I knew what I was getting into by playing with lower ELO players. I have gotten my first ever chat restriction as a result. What would be considered average trash talk in Plat or low Diamond is viewed as extremely toxic to the more casual players. The simple "gg ez" all by itself almost guarantees you get reported. Normals are there to have fun, but when anything you say, even attempts to be helpful or discuss strategy, is immediately dismissed as flaming or harassment, it's definitely a lot less fun. That on top of the fact that it's really hard to carry a lot of games in attempts to improve that normal MMR is frustrating, especially since that is what ranked is for.
Second is the addition to Summoner Spell Cooldowns in Champ Select.
Proposition: The description for summoner spells when choosing between them in champ select would include cooldowns.
Context: When you're worrying about locking in to avoid accidentally dodging in the new champ select, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have to turn to the Wiki to get such basic info when everything else about a summoner spell is listed. Not as big of a deal if you're a more experienced player, but it's a nice little quality of life thing for all players, especially when you forget what the CD for the new
is compared to
.
Thanks for reading. Any objections or alterations to my ideas? Please share! I'd like to know what everyone thinks about these, especially the first one.
