Platinum Lee Sin Main

I am a platinum 5 Lee Sin Jungle main and I am looking for help with my build. I usually go normally a full ad route and get stalkers blade warriors (my personal favorite) but the problem for me is what I should get as my second item as I am usually a person who goes right for rav hydra because it feels a lot better on lee. Should I really be getting Black Cleaver or Dead Man's Plate right after my jungle item? I feel like this ruins some of my gameplay in ranked.

it's situational. are you ahead and they have strong ap? maw are you ahead and they have a strong frontline? cleaver are you ahead and are confident you can pop their squishies? hydra is fine are you even or behind and your team needs a frontliner? dead man's/banshee's veil is very nice.

if your second item is damage you normally just go straight tank items after that regardless of how fed (though you could probably get away with double damage in to sterak's which gives you extra health, a shield and more damage as well).

think of it case by case, there's never a cookie cutter.

So I should always get 2 damage items if i'm ahead and then full tank or full tank if i'm behind?

Well see it like this, 3 or more ad? Dead Mans, 3 or more ap banshees or visage. If they are all squishy or all tanky (depends) and mixture in between, go bc, its better then ravenous, espiecally early.

it's not a case of always do this or always do that. if you feel you can get by on your base stats from being higher level, and maybe health/resistances from your damage you build (maw/titanic hydra/cleaver etc.) then go for it. you'll be tanky enough to survive their volley of spells and you can one shot their carries. if you feel for your role in fights at that moment in time your team needs a meatshield, it can just be worth tanking up after first item even if ahead, because when you finish it you'll have damage on par with them but you'll be able to take a lot too, it just means your damage will fall off sooner.

on the other hand, solo queue is solo queue and it might just be worth going double damage items anyway since you want to carry your team mates by outputting damage if they're lacking (behind or they just suck) to keep your team in the game and sustaining them with assists or giving them the kills.

but still, put your head to it and just think about their threats, your role in fights, your team composition's function (poke/pick/teamfight/siege) and how you can best itemise to aid with the strategy you need to pull off to win.

my advice would be for you to play a different champion. its up to you but if you want to get your honor back, probably drop lee.

Lee sin isn't my main and I am only Gold 2, but I do play a bit of him. If you go damage after warrior that is really beneficial for small skirmishes. But if the two teams are grouping early it can be hard to get your damage off if you are squish in a 5v5 team fight. i would build based off of how well you are doing and how you think the upcoming fights will turn out. I personally like building items on lee that have offensive and defensive capabilities...black cleaver- hp. Maw- mr and shield. ravenous hydra- switch to titanic late game. You can fill in with defensive item last with whatever you think is most important.
