Placements for New Season Are Broken As Hell!

Ok, so last season i started ranked a little late, but my placement matches went decently. I ended up winning four of them and getting placed into Silver V, a good place to start in my mind. As the new season came along, I dove right into placement matches this time winning 5 of 10. Using my knowledge of what I received last season for a ranking and my general ability to carry games in ranked, I felt confident that I would at least reach Silver V like I had done in season 5.

But to my dismay, I was placed into Bronze V....Yes, you heard me, bronze V.......What the hell is this about? Does riot hate me or something? Or is there something askew with the system? I have no idea. I just hope to God that I can get this fixed, because I do not belong in Bronze V.

My account is Athroxious on NA; look me up and you will see that I have won 5 out of 10 games (The placements) and also the shimmering Bronze V logo under ranked...Wtf riot. Someone please help.

I was Diamond 5 last season and got placed in Plat V. Placements don't put you where you were last season. Even challenger players get placed in plat at the beginning of the season. It's normal. If your mmr is at a silver level you should climb quickly back to where you were. I'm getting 25+ points a game because my mmr is still Diamond level.

Ok, I understand the explanation, thank you for clearing that up....But I don't understand why they would do that in the first place. Why put people where they don't belong and force them to climb back up; Regardless of how many points you get per game...? I don't know, to me it just doesn't make any sense.

Thanks for clearing that up. Still, though, I think I should have at least done better than Bronze V for god's sake! Bronze V is the worst of the worst, and it will take me at least 50 games to climb back to where I was last season; regardless of how many points I get per game. To me it's ridiculous.

Happy to help! And don't worry mate, I expect you'll be able to make quicker progress than you think. Particularly if you give ranked a rest for a coupla weeks and let some true bronze players clutter up that MMR range and then beat up on these really weak players for some easy peasy wins.
