League of AFKs

  • Afks provide no meaningful counterplay.
  • Afks create toxic, unfun environments.
  • Afks ruin games.

Despite the efforts of these new leaver systems, I still get matched with leavers and afks multiple times a day. I would really like to hear a developer state how many afks per day per is within acceptable norms. In my experience, the real number is far, far too high. If the game cannot acceptably prevent situations where 4v5 or 3v5s happen on a* regular* basis, then there needs to be another way for games to end without having to suffer for 20 minutes at minimum.

Agreed. Punishment for going AFK is still letting people off easy. I understand.. maybe power goes out... or computer crashes, or some error you can't help, it's fine. But when it's consistent, something needs to be done.

Clever. I like the way you presented the problem.

I would like to see how the number of AFKs changed with th eintroduction of delayed queues. If only that information was visible

the problem isn't the afk'ers the problem is riot hasn't implemented a solution. no matter how harsh the punishment gets, it is inevitable people will have to afk. real life stuff comes up, connections get lost, etc. if riot put in a replacement player system or something to make the game be able to go on then it wouldn't be a big deal when someone has to leave.

Riot could just make it a loss prevented for everyone except the afker.
