First time posting about Ping Spiking issue

I start a game on my home wireless connection with anywhere from 60-80 ping and have a pretty normal game, but for some reason about 25 minutes in the game will lag and I get hit with 300-500 ping the rest of the game. What is something I can do to fix this? I'm too far away from the router to use ethernet and I've already updated my drivers. Very concerning issue because I've had to use my hotspot just to get a good game longer then 25 minutes.

get a better router / wireless antennae? outside of upgrading what your using to maintain the signal between your computer and the internet your boned?
