What's Ivern's Deal?
Just curious where Ivern is on Riot's radar at the moment. I've been playing him since 6.22 and have seen the fall of Rome. He used to be fun to play. I mean, really fun, I've never had so much fun with any other champ. I understand that as people climbed his learning curve that we discovered how OP he was and that it warranted a nerf, but it feels like the quadruple nerf kinda pidgeon-holed him. I only play him in the jungle and I can only imagine that the nerfs feel worse for folks trying to play him in support role (save the krugs and blue nerf which don't apply so much to support Ivern). The changes didn't nescessarily nerf him off the face of the Earth, but it certainly made him much less fun to play. He's so floppy that he either forces the enemy to FF (under the circumstance that they have no idea how to lane properly) or your own team to FF (gets ganged up on often and shut down in the early game). He doesn't scale well into late game and quickly starts to become less useful at the 20 min mark, at which point the outcome of the game has mostly been decided.
I would say that he's better balanced now than he was, but has become lack luster and like he's balanced on a tight rope - any changes that happen to him or the jungle are gonna throw him hard one way or the other.
So, is Riot finished with him? Is where he sits now as they intended him to be?
For the record, I'm a bronze player so it would be nice to hear from some higher ELO players about their Ivernfeels. Also, awesome job conceptually on Ivern by Riot. The innovation was killer on him and this is the first time since I started playing in 2014 that I've felt like I've become super attached to a champion.
