No. Because he's mobile. If he was buffed to the levels Darius was WHILE having his mobility, oh lord. You think this QQ is bad? xDD

darius can pull and slow, renekton just e and he only gets one otherwise he does a small mount of damage to himself.

he doesnt need massive buffs, lol. the items helped him in general. steraks should actually be pretty good on him. maybe an ad/lvl increase, but his winrate is just below 50%.

something minor should already help him over the line.

hes slightly underwhelming, not like urgot level screwed.

I agree, Renekton isn't that bad but he needs a small push. He's a great lane bully and doesn't do that bad in teamfights, but he can be underwhelming.

Not sure who would build BoRK on Renekton? Maybe if he was the team carry and needed a bit more damage, but usually Titanic/Ravenous are his only damage item(s).

bork is actually an amazing item on renekton in the right circumstances (if you think you have the opportunity to reach a squishy in teamfights, bork gives you more damage on your W than any other AD item because the %hp damage doesn't get reduced by 25% on each hit) (as long as your target has over 687 hp, bork is the highest AD in the game aside from fully stacked Maw of malmortius) and that's without taking into consideration the attack speed which makes you much more threatening while your abilities are on cooldown

When i played renekton a ton before these updates (stopped playing him before these updates too) i always built Hydra and bork. hydra for that auto reset, bork for the extra lifesteal, attack speed, and his synergy on w. Then i would build cleaver and 2 tank items + tank boots. I usually ended up top damage taken (because the combined lifesteal offset some missing tank stats) and top damage done, just like current juggernauts. Renekton wasnt in the juggernaut update because he was already a juggernaut.

BoRK is situationally good on him because his W can apply the passive multiple times and the active helps him chase. An empowered W will deal 24% of the target's current HP.

Technically it's 8% of your opponent's current health three times, which is a little bit less than 24% of the target's current health.

K' he falls a bit in late game but imo he got a huge power-up with this item 3748 .

Seriously this item is so much better than item 3074 since it refreshes your hit and deals additional damages on every-hit. That's in my opinion much better than a flat +35 AD since you get this auto refresh, additional damages and 400 HP.

So yes, that means you can Auto+Hydra+W instantly (hidden OP that nobody found out yet, like on 's E and so on).

item 3053 helps him well

I'm currently testing item 3748 item 3153 item 3071 item 3158 for 40% CDR and massive snowball. That works well, and anyway, once Renekton gets , almost all top laners simply die of your combo.

You can cast (ravenous) hydra instantly after you auto so it also pretty much works as an auto reset.

steraks isn't as good on him due to his AD scalings being mostly Bonus instead of total, I currently really like bork/maw/cleaver for AD and two more defensive items for very relevant teamfight power

also ravenous hydra isn't as core on him as before since you can now cancel your W animation without it's active

I agree, What most people don't understand is how Renekton plays in lane against other melee champions.

He dashes through minions (giving im another dash charge) Stuns you, sweeps you and dashes away. And if the trade went as intended, he will be unscathed. He seems to play like a more beefy Riven with less mobility but working on the same trade mechanics in lane.

As a diver bruiser, has the ability to dash in, deal a fair amount of damage to his targets and dash out, whereas juggernauts only tend to win against other melee champions if allowed to fight for extended periods of time (they also can't back out of a fight as easily). In fact, Renekton probably has one of the best in-and-out comboes around, so unless you're trying to fight a juggernaut in extended trades you should be doing okay against them.

As a free week Renekton, I can't contribute much to a conversation about his power level. If there are changes, I just hope they don't make him more of a bully than he already is LOL Maybe a shift to his CC side or his late-game damage

Renekton is meant to be weaker against juggernauts (although you still destroy garen so long as you aren't the villain, and you have what it takes to lane efficiently vs darius (haven't laned vs new skarner or morde so i can't say)) but in exchange you are a much stronger pick to go in a lane and to teamfight against a kite mage like lulu or lissandra

There is no logical basis to say he is "supposed" to be weaker.

the logical basis is that he has always been weaker against champions that can get really tanky in the late game while having a laning phase somewhat capable of standing up to him

if they can keep up in farm and proceed to outscale him later on, they're happy campers

How does he suffer? I whooped both Garen and Darius on my main acc, going semi-juggernaut w/ only a Maw as my pure AD item. Is it that you aren't playing carefully and letting Darius get his heal + passive off???

If you buff Renekton, he can become a problem. He's still good, and far from being in the shitter. If you could explain what problem you're encounter....?

i agreed that rene (and nasus too) needs buff against popular top laner... right now they are under 49% winrate over all servers... poor nasus...

anyway

i dont think item 3074 or item 3748 are his core items ... both of item had some plus and negative... but rene is kinda of brusier with burst damage...

i found that (red/brown runes) + offensive masteries + item 3071 + item 3035 are better item on renekton... which is cheap and more damage... but weak pushing...

i usually build to get item 3044 > item 3751 > item 1001 to balance strength of renekton then complete item 3071 + item 3068 + item 3009 OR item 3111 then last item 3035 to finish the game early as possible...

last two item would be depend on how i am doing.. usually item 3156 or item 3065 or item 3742 or item 3153 or item 3139

rene's passive really needs to be improving tho...

Renekton is just straight up garbage. He has to snowball. He just does dmg for like 6 lvls, and then afk's on the dmg charts and in teamfights.

Buff Renekton's passive so he deals 77% max hp true damage on hit to champions named Riven. We all know how crocodiles go for targets in the river that thrash around to attract them. Well, Riven bounces like an epileptic water buffalo in lane, perfect Renekton food. Boom, Renekton is fixed.
