I bought an item earlier on a game, and bought and item which buffs up nearby minions and makes them bigger, and some sort of purple glob is next to each one of them. I forgot the name of it, but it's really cool. Anyone knows it? :v

What you described is the Baron Buff that gets applied to minions near allied champions when active.
in siege game mode.
like already being said, you probably mean the baron buff.
you get that buff for a while when you or your team slays the pink monster (Baron) in the top River after minute 20. so it has nothing to do with an item, you probably just bought a item while your team was doing baron and got the buff.
