Ok so i've had several games and perhaps i'm just bitter because it's been a few games in a row of either players on my team refusing to communicate, talk, ping, or engage in any sort of fashion which causes a loss in the game. And then there are the all too common games on one side or the other where a person straight up afk's the entire match. Or multiple people do it. The game in the latter instance is near unwinnable. I've won some 4v5's on the side of 4 but it's ever so difficult and i've yet to win a 3v5 game. Not that I want the chance or opportunity to do so, and neither do i think anyone else does.

But you still get whacked in the shin with lp loss because of afk's. And even the gains makes the win just feel bleh. Did no one on the staff consider just a lp prevention when you have an afk?

Is it really fair to penalize a set of people purely on someone just not being present. Even should you struggle through a painful lopsided match and win the gains are hardly worth it.

You can't save the people who get hurt by AFK's , because it would become a tool.. Duo with someone, start to lose, then afk, to save the other duo/rest of team.

However, I am also sick and tired of AFKs.. I was in a promo series, where someone connected, and chatted, but refused to play. They sat in the nexus for the first 10 minutes of the game. When we finally convinced them that this was still considered an AFK, they started to play, but in those 10 minutes without a jungle, their jungle took all our buffs, and was able to camp a lane.

I said "whatever" accepted the loss, reported them as AFK, and moved on. I still had 2 more chances for my promo.

Except, The problem is, the absolute next game (I requeued), this same person was on my team again. Again, our team lobbied and convinced them to play after 10 minutes, but it was too late.

Again, similar thing happened (This time ADC was left solo), and with the help of jungle, bot folded quickly, and the team surrendered.

The same exact person, AFK'd 2 straight games of my series.

So.. make it a Rolling calendar thing. Every 30 days, you are forgiven 3 AFK's/Disconnects. once you cross that threshold, further AFK's/Disconnects mean that something isn't right with your setup (or attitude), and you are negatively impacting the game for everyone else too much, and recieve a harsh penalty (can't queue ranked?)

Once enough days pass, and you get back a few more forgives, your back in action. If you fixed your setup / Attitude, you might even get all of them back.

Right now, there seems to be absolutely ZERO repercussions for AFK/Disconnect, and general bad attitude.

Riot says that systems to improve things are "in the works", but that has been a statement for a long time now.

If the players are giving you money, it's better to pretend to do something, or only do the absolute minimum. Don't want to offend them.

Technically the current system favors you in the long run as the enemy team will total more afks than the team you're on. Think about it, if you never afk then there is a 1/4 chance that someone on your team will afk while the other team has a 1/5. So the other team will have a little bit more afks then you do over time.
