so I recently finished playing my provisionals, and after winning 9 out of 10 provisionals got placed in bronze 2. Keeping in mind I was bronze 3 last season and my mmr is obviously poor, I still think I have improved since then and my 9 wins should have at least placed me in silver 5 at the least...

Yea provisional screw you over like that.. your provisional games only place you close to where you were last time. Which is why High people remain high.. and low people remain low..
Had you won those 9/10 on a clean slate you probably would of been Silver 1 or 2... give or take..
BUT theres a good thing to that because when You provisional at the start of the season you fight people who are around your level.. WHEREAS if everyone started with clean slate.. you'd probably see a bronzie in a game full of diamonds... RIP..

It's based on who you're matched against.
I won 6 out of my 10 promos, and got put in Silver 2. I was getting matched against high gold players consistently for a while, and I felt it was too much since I was rather new. The combination of that, and trolls caused me to slide back to Silver 3. Now I get matched with silver people mostly. My normal game MMR is bronze 3 to silver 4.
sucks man. but keep in mind the fact you won 9/10 means youll be promoted in no time
Feelsbadman. I won 5/10 matches, and that isn't great. But I was expecting at least high Bronze or low Silver since I was Silver 5 last season and I won 3 of my matches, but lost 7. Honestly, I didn't deserve Silver last season. And even though 5-5 isn't great or anything I GOT FRIKKIN BRONZE 5. Wtf Riot ;( oh well, na.op.gg keeps saying my MMR is high for my division and I'll probably skip two divisions and be in Bronze 3 if I win my promos after getting 100 LP. If anything, I deserve Silver now way more than last year. Last year I absolutely sucked and I have no idea how I wasn't placed in Bronze 5, but now I'm not even trying to be cocky but I can clearly see a skill difference when I play ranked now since I'm in Bronze 5. Oh well, just gotta keep climbing and keep improving my MMR for next season :)

Please, don't depend on the unbalanced ranking system. Last season, i won 3 of my 10 games and got put into silver 5....
They place you around the elo that you have been before. If you deserve Silver 5, you'll get there quick.

They didn't screw you over. Your MMR is probably fairly high (at least for the division), which means you should climb faster. It intentionally puts you a bit lower than you'd think, but it allows you to climb. You will almost never be put in a division higher than you were the previous year, since MMR is a soft reset every year (not a full reset).

Ok, i was silver 4 last season, when the new season 6 started I decided to do my promos, I won half of them, and I got bronze 5 is this a bug, my kda was very good on almost all of the games, does anyone know how to help me?
10 games won't get that much MMR, but most people didn't get promoted right out of the 2015 provisional matches, so you're on a great start regardless.
