Playing a ranked game... game closes and informs me "we are installing an update"... MID MATCH!!! WTF?!? I receive a loss and leaver penalty... Seriously Riot... WTFH are you doing?!?!? To top this off, had a 'player' who was trolling all game and needed a report... Can't do that now, can we?
They actually just added a few extra pixels to Kindreds butt which needed a buff. Enjoy the patch!

I´ve also had a case when i played 2 normals then went into ranked, started up as usual but in the middle of loading screen it crashes and tells me the game has detected improperly installed files.
Goes into 20 minutes something fix and i get fully penalized for "quitting" a ranked game x)
if riot is the reason your game is interupted you'll get loss prevented, if not that's a mistake and you should send a ticket.
Were on promos? if you were on promos dont worry, you'd probably lose the game anyways. The leaver buster is what sucks more tho D:

Did you by any chance DC and that is the reason you had to patch over because you had corrupted installation? Reopen the whole client etc? how did the rest of the teammates not disconnect if a patch just came live?
If the servers go down for an update you get a loss prevention, not a loss.
Also, they announce patches 2 days ahead of time. You have no excuse.
ive had games shutting down, but they never counted as a loss with leaver penalty. thats so weird.
Have you submitted a support ticket? This sounds like a bug.
Also, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I think you can also report players through the Riot Support system as well.
Here in OCE they close ranked 2 hours prior to the patch. Making sure this doesn't happen lmao.
