Bots in Twisted Treeline LOVE ALTARS

So why are the bots in Twisted Treeline more obsessive about taking altars than protecting their base? I've often witnessed them homing in on altars when one of my minion waves are destroying their inhib turrets / inhibitors. More to that point, bots are terrible at wave management in general. I'm not really asking that bots need a rework or anything at all. I suppose I feel that the part of League of Legends that has bots could be more... rational? I mean come on, my altar just got unlocked again, why does Sivir Bot have to run 50 extra teemos just to capture it when my minion wave is 5 teemos from wrecking her inhib?
