My SILVER 1 team VS DIAMOND 3 team in RANKED 3v3

Just finished playing a game with my friends on Twisted Treeline. A 3v3 Ranked match where we went up against a ranked Diamond 3's team. You're probably thinking "Then what the hell is the problem?"... well, our team is Silver 1. How is this acceptable? We lost, obviously... but when is it okay for a SILVER 1 team to go up against a DIAMOND 3 team in ranked nonetheless? This should never happen. Ideally, two teams of EQUAL or MINIMAL VARIATION in skill go against each-other, and the better team with better coordination and play-making should win. Tell me, how is a Silver team ANYWHERE CLOSE to the skill of a Diamond team? This is unacceptable and downright unfair. There is no balance to this. How can anyone justify this?
