Would gnar be viable as adc? I remember people trying him on botlane at season 4 but it was pretty bad. Would it be viable at the current meta with a proper synergy champion?

no because the faster your attack speed is the faster you get to mega gnar which would then for about 8 seconds in a teamfight make you not an adc but a squishy giant melee with super fast attack speed and crits.

he falls off lategame and really just everytime he transforms

if the other team has any defense or just isn't stupid they will rek you especially if you are bronze 4 and your team has no strategy

AD Gnar is a horrifying build.

Take him top lane, though. His strength is his ability to kite then turn around and whomp the target, but who would you rather face? Someone who out-ranges you once you transform, or someone who suffers at all stages? His strongest matchups while AD are Darius, Riven, Fiora and Gangplank, due to insanely high damage plus the vayne-esque 3-hit-proc.
