@Riot - Potential Quinn Changes that didn't hit the PBE

Quinn Quinn

Blinding Assault (Q) blind duration lowered to 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 from 1.5 at all ranks.

Tag Team (R) significantly changed.

First Cast: Valor replaces Quinn on the battlefield as a mobile melee attacker. Valor can move through units and gains +80/100/120% Movement Speed, decreased gradually to +5/10/15% when in combat.

Second Cast: Quinn returns, replacing Valor on the battlefield, and also resetting the cooldown on Heightened Senses.

Now lasts until cancelled. Mana cost lowered to 80 from 100 and Cooldown now 40/20/1 from 140/110/80.

What do you guys think? The Q nerf is not that bad if she could have a safer ult. Valor is so risky right now and it would be awesome if Valor lasted until you cancel it. But what about Skystrike? I like Skystrike. I don't want Quinn to be a late game shifter, sth like the previous Nidalee. I would suggest just to lower R's cooldown to 95/70/45 from 140/110/80 or sth like that. But to make a change in Quinn, Riot must decide what she is. Is she a bottom lane marksman or a solo lane ranged ad assassin? (As I tend to play her or see other people play her too.)

She doesn't need a rework. All she needs is her multiple bug fixes( AA cancellation, passive taking sometimes upwards of 10 seconds to proc, etc) and some QoL changes (more reliable/ intuitive passive).

If she needed any buffs I can see two possible solutions.

  1. Make Q apply on hit affects as if it was a melee attack (similar to gankplank). This makes sense because Valor form is melee, and by casting Q, it would be like Valor is jumping onto, then off of the battlefield quickly instead of replacing her completely(with her ult) Quinn's whole concept is designed to be a tag team duo champ, this would flesh out that concept out so much more.

-or-

  1. Give her an increased range(+ 50) on marked vulnerable targets. This would allow her to effectively proc the passive, without completely putting yourself in harms way. Also it would solve the problem of her sometimes vaulting too far away and being outside of AA range(vault still leaps at base AA range). This wouldn't even be a problem, seeing how its only temporary, and wouldn't outrange some of the other ADC's. Cough Cait/ Trist* Cough*

I honestly think Quinn's ult is fine as-is... in some senses.

It's an incredible ganking/mobility tool. It gives her crazy burst, with her E-Q-auto-R single-target combo. But so much of the power on Valor is given in an attack speed boost. Not only does it give players the wrong idea about how it's supposed to be used (much closer to Panth ult than anything else) but it gives her a ton of power she isn't going to use unless she's splitpushing or something.

Don't get me wrong, I think that giving Quinn a 120% conditional movespeed boost from 6 on would give her a really interesting and unique identity. I'd be interested in trying it on PBE. But I think she could be improved with a few more subtle changes - replace Valor's attack speed buff with a Sheen-esque bonus, for example - without having to turn her into just another transformation champion.

I think this new ult gives Valor his time to shine. Before he was just used for ganking and getting from point A to point B really quickly, but on a pretty long cooldown (always thought waiting 140/110/80 seconds just to be able to gank quickly was pretty ridiculous). The other bonuses Valor gets, such as the increased AS, dont really add up to such a long CD honestly. I think what made it so high was the fact that Skystrike was there, a large AOE execute, which has a ton of damage potential. While that was nice to have, it wasn't the reason the ult was used most of the time it seems.

I think removing Skystrike is worth it if Valor can now persist however long you want him to, and on a 40/20/1 second cooldown to boot. That's pretty rad. That makes it so he can be used moreso in the way he was already mostly used.

This could help fill her niche as a scout a bit more too, at least thematically.

Overall I'm optimistic about it, assuming it goes through.

No, if Valor keeps his AS he will be an unstoppable splitpusher. It will also be a permanent Yi ult.

Quinn needs bugfixes, not buffs or a rework

Quinn is my main champion (preface).

I disagree with the range buff and blind nerf. She is balanced, base-stat wise, around having the shorter AA range with higher MS, higher tankiness (both her HP and Armor are high-tier among AD Carries) and the blind duration. If they buffed her range, she could become really oppressive in top lane, especially with the ult change.

The ult change...I am not sure about it. One of the justifications for her high ult CD was the fact that it packed a great deal of power, with the strong AS buff, MS buff and execute. However, I can also see the merits of changing it, especially since they are retaining Valor's defining speed feature. Not sure if anyone wanted to stay in melee form ever, though, when it doesn't feature any in-combat benefits over ranged form.

TL;DR: Absolutely against increasing AA range, wary of blind duration nerf, guardedly interested in Tag Team changes.

EDIT: Context: There's also the rumor of her having 550 range instead of 525. A change I really dislike.

If the second cast of R loses its damage, it would mean Quinn losing half her kit's base damage and over 40% of her kit's total damage ratio (2.35 down to 1.35).

That would put her down in the bottom tier of worst scaling ADs in the game.
