FPS capping at 30

Skitter Skin··2 votes·777 views

Just got a new Dell XPS 15 with newest specs and a Nvidia GTM 960M graphics card. Game ran at 170 fps initially but now it sticks at 30, nothing more or less. I have tried many things; in game options, turning off v-sync, turning off DVR, updating drivers, reinstalling the game and restarting the laptop. Is there anything else I could try? Really appreciate any help as I have run out of ideas. Thanks

Got to settings -> System -> Power & Sleep -> Additional Power Settings -> Change preferred plan to High Performance.

anyways, make sure nvidia settings are set to have game control settings. as well as making sure that the game is running on the nvidia card and not integrated graphics from the intel cpu.

Sure you didnt just cap it to 30 in the ingame Video Settings? I know that you can cap games in the Nvidia Control Panel thing.. hard to explain, just do what this guy does https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpKGbFyatr8 and see if Vsync is on or something I guess but other than that... no idea.

Have you opened nvidia control panel and set all your games to use the 960M instead of integrated graphics?

(RIP laptop with 1050 arriving in january)

Thanks for the replies - tried all of these including making sure the game ran on the Nvidia graphics card, but still after restarting the laptop, the game is capped at 30...

whoops turns out I selected the graphics card for the launcher and not for the actual app. Thanks a lot. Is working great now :)
