Issue w/ unbalanced MMR in game pairings (Team Builder)

Just played a game w/ friends in Team Builder. We are all in the gold/silver range (at best). Was checking my opponents, and was rather surprised that we had been paired vs three diamond and two platinum players. We held on rather doggedly, but the game was pretty self-evident.
