Why? Anyone else think this is a problem?

Because being good doesnt equal good attitude

We used to have "Helpful" as an option, or "Good Opponent" if they were on the other team. But not according to the new honor system, since it wouldn't make sense to level up honor for being good.

Yea, its not like its been out for 2 days in every region or anything

It is particularly not a problem.

Because the purpose of the Honor System is to encourage people to be cooperative, "honorable". It's not supposed to be "click on the guy with the highest K/D", that's the last behaviour we need to encourage.

Ones rank is already something to measure skill, honour is meant to measure something else (i.e. sportsmanship). Theres plenty of extremely skilled but rather toxic players out there who shouldn't be getting a free pass to a high honour level just because they happen to be skillful.

because "keeping your cool" is a more important category

which category is more important is not the point....the point is that it doesn't make sense to not factor in skill at all. they made 3 honorables which basically mean the same thing when they could have included more for other aspects of the game

You can, just honor them for the GG one, well, really you can honor them for any but I personally do the GG one if it is for skilled. I would rather honor a team mate that pulled his weight and said nothing than someone that went 0-20-0 but kept saying "Its ok guys, we got this!!!"

I have more people now who make a point to say good job. Or like "gj team!!!" its so fucking cringey.

for those who are saying that its more important to "keep your cool", this is a vague statement and it doesn't get around the fact that riot made 3 honorables for having a good personality but didn't factor in honorables for good objective control, game knowledge, map awareness, mechanics, etc

Having good obj control, game knowledge and map awareness falls under shot calling. The point of it is to honor players who are nice, not omg pro 420 zed montage skilled.

for example, the shot calling honorable is valid, but the other 2 are too similar. tilt proof and friendly are too interchangeable. the categories need to be more diverse

Yeah, I lump it into the one that isn't nontilt and friendly, honorable?

I feel like the Mastery system covers who's good at their champ, though.

The point is to encourage players to not be assholes to each other. If there was a category for "is good at League of Legends", that would undermine the goal. It shouldn't MATTER how good you are, just how honorable you are.

Ok but I feel like I should have the ability to honor someone for being good at the game....I CANT DO THAT EXCEPT FOR THE SHOTCALLING ONE and that category just covers one aspect of being good. If I want to honor someone for carrying the game... theres no way to do that!
