I really dont get the matchmaking system

my last game this was ranked mind you was my teams ranks- s3,s1,s2,s1 and then me gold 5 while the other fucking team has s1,g5,g5,g5,p5

this unbalanced mmr happens more than it doesnt happen

Matchmaking doesn't care about ranks at all except as a limiting factor for who can duo with who, and instead uses mmr which the underlying number representing a players skill used for matchmaking.

Gold 5 players for example could have an mmr anywhere from silver 4 to actually gold 5 (or even higher), and similar for p5 players who could be as bad (in terms of mmr) as gold 4.

What that means in this case is that the average mmr for either team was probably around s1, and many of those g5's likely have mid-low silver mmrs, while one of them was almost certainly duoing with the p5 (who himself probably had a mid-low gold mmr).

You can't know mmr, op.gg and similar sites are just estimates.

If one side had a premade and the other didn't, that can make for mmr mismatches to offset the communication advantage the duo have.
