Riot, its time to fix your AI.

Alright so recently I gotten a friend of mine to actually play Leauge. It was all good until I played coop vs AI for the first time in a long time. A Players first thought when they get into a new game is to try coop or at least play and see what its all about. The game does NOTHING to teach new players in COOP vs AI nearly. The AI is brain dead. Taric AI randomly breaks, Ryze AI randomly throws Q at some point and will never move but just spam Q at base, Shyvanna AI gives up and Ints at level 5, Yasuo AI like never understands what he's supposed to do or what he's doing, Every Rework champion, removes one more Bot, Soraka is only around in Customs, Which btw custom's don't even have ALL of the bots so you only get like just a few of the same ones, Warwick on beginner will actually play the match. Once you raise that difficulty, you'll never see him leave base 98% of the time, Support AI, don't act like supports and will last hit minions, The bot's tend to never commit to a team fight and will run all the time, there summoner spells are now broken in the loading screen, and there pathing is extremely strange in certain cases.

With that being said, After testing out some AI's from Smite and Dota I can officially say that Dota almost somewhat gets it right. The Ai communicates with the player on what plays they will make (Defending mid, attacking a specific player, ganking, etc etc), In some cases for me on Dota they even level 1 invade to secure first blood and steal gold, the supports actually do support things, they roam and team fight and group up in jungles and this was a major learning experience for me when I came to Dota, The high difficulty AI in Dota was better than players sometimes or in some cases a LOT of times, the best part about it was that the community can even create there own bots essentially and upload it to the steam workshop.

Now lets talk about the AI on Twisted Treeline. They can be down right BRUTAL to face, they actually are very challenging once they get ahead sometimes, They can even TP on Minions or towers, I never seen that happen, they also play the objective and roam from lane to lane ganking and killing. That's how it needs to be. Not just Taric AI broke. Some AI in Twisted Treeline though ARE broken such as Soraka, and the AI can and WILL break from time to time and never leave the base.

Riot, if you want new players to be interested and to learn your game you have to have smarter AI or a better way to teach players, Make an AI that can jungle, make the AI supports actually do support things, maybe allow the AI to ping there locations to setup ganks and help players. Because what you don't get is that people who come to your game, try to do pvp because your bots give them a power fantasy, making them believe that they get it and are somewhat decent. But in reality they get flamed for feeding the top laner, and its what drives players away. Because let's be real, league is known for its toxicity and its going to continue to drive players away.

Now I am no way in saying that they need to fix bots ASAP and it needs to be now, but what I am suggesting is that maybe on the sidelines, possibly work on them while the other major issues are being addressed.

It should be a simple matter to train this game on a deep reinforcement learning neural network architecture. One year at most to train bots to semi-pro level. If you don't believe me check out Deepmind's AI for Starcraft II.

Once you have that in place you can just keep the lite version (no continual learning) to be shipped in each patch and keep training the AI on a server, separately.

Why going with neural network though? WC3 mod DOTA has already superior bots and it was all coded. It is possible to code them to play better. They did it like 20 years ago.

The only reason they aren't doing it is because they ignore pve playerbase.
