What even is matchmaking?

Can one of the clowns from Riot explain to me why I keep getting matched with and against LEGIT bronze V players when I'm gold 4? Seven out of ten games my teammates and opponents are all Bronze V. This makes literally no sense and is really starting to frustrate me. I play a mix of ranked and normals games and I have an average winrate. What the hell is happening?

Thank Dynamic Queue. You were probably teamed up with a premade that was trying to boost their bronze player.

EDIT After closer look at your match history; it is actually this; your normal match MMR is different from rank MMR. Your norm MMR is very low. Your rank mmr should not be low at all so you should not get any bronze or mid to low silver players in your games unless they have insanely high MMR. Basically you're going to be stuck with those players until you get your norm MMR back up again.
