So i usually dont post on boards because im a low level
But i dont know who to talk to about this. I was just put in a game against a level 30 when im lv 11. That doesnt seem fair in the slightest. I just dont know who thought this was okay

Take it as a learning experience
"You are completely screwed if you don't have a keystone"
Lesson learned..?
Considering that I've won ranked games with the wrong runes and a blank mastery page, I'm pretty sure you are overreacting.

Exactly this. Do take it as a learning experience. No matter what you're doing, you advance the most by playing with/against players who are better than you, learning the way they do things and learning the understanding of why they do them.
If only half the player base didn't chastise someone for being worse than them. "Omg wtf noob report sh*t bot lane!"

True. However if you're running into that frequently I find there are two ways to deal with it. Saying "Sorry having a bad game" and /mute all
Well, of course it's not impossible. I mean. Not having a keystone doesn't actually disable your character, and you could in fact be facing a group of cabbages on the other team instead of actual players.
But if you're involved in a duel with someone of equal skill with you, and they have almost the equivalent of +112 AD because of one keystone and you don't... yeah, that's a very uphill battle.
Man these people are negative, don't listen to them man. League is fun but it's one of those games that you need to learn and adapt for a long time before you truly get the feel of things. It was a bit unfair to be faced against a lv.30 as a lv.11, but use it to learn. I remember I was just hitting level 30 and constantly playing against plats/diamonds and got my ass kicked for awhile before my mmr dropped to it's rightful level, but I learned so much during that time and while I wasn't winning I was enjoying myself and learning a lot.
Now I play against high golds/plats with a diamond or two every couple games (when I'm playing solo) and look back at how much I've learned.
I suggest sticking with bots (highest level if they're too easy for you) until level 20 simply because it's impossible to know enough about the game to go to pvp effectively before then. Try to buy 4ish main champs that you play well with and work on getting effective rune pages asap if you want an edge on other new players. Runes seem a bit tricky but there are a lot of guides out there to help you form the correct rune pages for champions.
Also: Never forget the importance of vision. Basically, you should ward
well we are past our last generation of league players.
everyone else is just a smurf. new players will get fk'd over and cant learn simply because everyones a smurf.
last generation was s5 starters
So basically because im not smurfing, i get the short end of the stick? Yay...

welcome to league of assclowns
Thanks.. I think i am actually going to pass on this game after all
well if u care and wanna play you can play bots til u get to lvl 30 and build ur account with runes and champs then try pvp at lvl 30 then go from there. there is the co op vs ai mode that you can play vs bots and typically its a lot of newer players playing vs AI controlled champs.
Nah, don't let it bring you down. After all, the prettiest flowers grow in the toughest spots. Facing better players makes you better in turn. And trust me, when you get to the point where you beat them, it's so satisfying.

Your MMR level is pretty much nonexistent prior to level 30 (In that it varies so much that your matches will regularly have large skill differences in the people you match with). Luckily for you, in the past year they literally halved the amount of time it takes to get to lvl 30 and if you so choose you can play some bot matches to get xp and ip for some champs you'd like to learn and not deal with smurfs n such. Unfortunately the way league's system is designed there isnt really much of a way to get around this other than pushing through the bs that is norms until you can go craft a stable mmr in ranked queue. Normals don't represent actual skill level though, the mmr in norms differ from ranked so to begin with its quite easy for myself (A plat) to be matched against a team of bronze/silver. The question here is, do you want to push through these annoyances to get to the "good" stuff at lvl 30? Or just quit now because it's so frustrating to play against people who know what theyre doing when you don't. Both are reasonable answers, just up to you

Matchmaking pretty much sucks once you hit lvl 30 also. What "good" stuff do you get at 30? Ranked? Hooray, I hit lvl 30, now I can be rewarded with the most toxic players League has to offer, lol.

Hence the "good"
I recommend avoiding PvP in the early levels.
I leveled to 30 in bot games. Once I could get tier 3 runes I started doing ARAM and Dominion with the bot games. I didn't bother with Normals until I had a few fleshed out rune pages at level 30.
My suggestion is checking out Master x Master. It's a new moba-ish game that's going into western beta sometime this year (ported from S. Korea I think?) You'll meet more newcomers there. My only issue with the game is I swear some players saw the comedy skit involving a guy playing "What's New Pussycat" over and over on a jukebox, because the lobby jukebox is always playing the same J-Pop song....
No, do bot games for a while to learn the champions, get up to level 30 (it goes pretty quick and teaches you a lot). While the game modes open up at earlier levels, I really don't recommend them under level 20 unless you've played before.
Just play bot games, if you are good they go fast and you'll match with better players and then go even faster. If you do good in one game, then your next match is harder (that's how match making works, as far as I know). The problem comes down to when you are good with level 15's (who were good with a level 25 before) you might get matched with a level 30 that was bad with a level 25 before.

I disagree. I essentially started league at the beginning of S6, picked it up to the point where Im high plat.
I read somewhere you wanted to pass on the game. No offence to you but yeah pass the game it's a joke it's bad and unfun even if you get good at it it's still not fun. What drives people to play is 1: studborn they think they can climb but in reality they are bad and they can't. 2: money the money they've spent on the game makes em play. 3:trying to get noticed by some lcs team for a chance at making it big( talking about high elo here) 4: prolly cause they got nothing better to do at the moment. so yeah league has not been a good enviroment since season 4 and yeah as a guy that play since season 1 and has made over 5 accounts 4 of them beeing 30 3 of them getting into diamond yeh i suggest dont try the game play something else.

I really want to know what happened. I remember my experience as a new player being great/ horrific. It was just me and 9 other clueless idiots flailing our abilities around and building who knows what. You'd open the store and have a mild stroke, then just decide to leave it for another day. There was no raging. There was no "X is op" (Except yi. That was the real op back in the day ;D). It was just a fun experience learning the equally fun, yet daunting game.
What happened to that league of legends? :(
I miss the same thing. I remember playing in season 1, going to duo top lane playing warwick and kayle, and having no idea what i was doing. It took me months before i figured out the difference between AD and AP, but i never felt like i was at a disadvantage in game play. I was surrounded by new players. Its a shame no one gets to experience that anymore.
matchmaking system for low level player had been garbage for years, rito doesn't seem to care much for new player experience, or maybe they juat soing it so people would buy exp boost.
Yeah, it's a real problem with the system. But that means it thinks you're a player on a second account, so you must be doing good :)
Low level matchmaking has always been garbage. Thats just the way it is.
Depends. With Riot promoting smurfs in the last few years it's gotten significantly worse (the old amazon free bundle, halving xp to 30, getting T2 runes for 1 IP, etc.).
Yeah it's bollocks, it's the same at level 30 too you'll be still learning a role and get matched vs a Plat Mastery 5 enemy. This is why I don't play competitively you'll get to your promos and get slapped by a Gold or Plat player in lane or if you do win your lane the rest of the team won't
gold players aren't good
At the time when I don't even know all champs names nevermind abilities and I'm still learning to CS they are really good in comparison
Technically they are better than over 50% of league players
to be fair that statistic does not take into account the players that just complete their placement matches and then dont play ranked again. So while even if those players are gold-diamond skill level statistics just show they are silver.
While I do get your point, the sheer number of players that would have to do that (to significantly affect the percentage) is so high, that for all intents and purposes, it should be ignored
We are all products of beat downs taking place on the climb to level thirty.
wtf? Riot please check your damn matchmaking system. This is not OK
How does a level 11 getting placed with a 30 have anything to do smurfing on the level 30's part? Either the Lvl 11 is smurfing or there just aren't enough new players.
Another thing to consider is that maybe, just maybe, hes got some mechanical skill from playing similar games and is stomping the other new players.
Yeah, it was unfair. But 11 to 30 isn't as big as you think. When you get to level 30 and start playing against plats, the skill gap widens emmensly and the game is decided before champ select.
It's because normal MMR is independent of level/rank. You can play against a diamond player as a level 11 if you've played and won a decent amount of games in normals and they are playing their first normal game of the season. It's bound to happen.
I'm silver and just started playing normals again. I regularly get matched against bronze or unranked players. As my MMR grows I'll be placed against people my skill level.
Take it as a compliment, maybe you're just that good :D
That person could have been queuing up with a friend who was around your level, not the best of situations but it can happen. I played most of my pre 30 games against coms.
lol i could bet money this dude is just a smurf on a new acc
So you're level 11, but you can post in Gameplay?
