Tips for returning player?

Any tips for a returning player? Been about 8 months or so since I've last played. I had people asking me last match what summoner level I was. I feel like I didn't have something equipped I should have?

Basically it's preseason now. I would start with looking the patch notes for 6.22 (though 6.23 is coming soon). Long story short, assassins got revamped, jungle got altered, new support items, vision related stuff. Also look out for Rengar . People still hate him.

Depending on how into this game you are, I'd read past patch notes and this patch's notes.

I think masteries got changed the last time you played. They may be wondering where your keystone mastery is at, since the update should have reset all your pages.
