Struggling with Yorick and winning games

So I am currently try my very best to incorporate Yorick into my roster of pocket picks and overall get better with him.

I love the kit(QOL seems to be lacking imo but that's another discussion), I love the lore and just the thematic. It's what keeps me coming back as well as finally getting a skin for him.

But, I'm struggling with him and I just need some outside prospective and some advice on what to do. Out of 46 games in total(ranked and normals) I have only won 17. I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall.

I am currently low gold(playing Yorick tanked my Elo a bit and dropped me an entire division and nearly demoted to silver) and I'm trying to find out how people make Yorick work.

I've looked at guides on split pushing, I've looked at at Yorick guides and how to play him, I've looked at myself objectively to see what the hell im doing wrong and I've just found myself in a vicious cycle for how my games end in losses.

They tend to go I do well, team wants to force team fights while I'm splitting when the team as a whole is behind in gold for the sake of just grouping mid like it were a game of Aram. I do well, but team 4v5s and multiple times when it was their fault for mispositioning and becoming blood thirsty for a fight because they caught one. Eventually putting me on the back foot is listening to my team as I do eventually cave when they want me to group, as if I'm trolling just for splitting when I trust my knowledge to know the right times to do it.

I have my bad games, I understand this, and we all do, but I'm playing Yorick as a split pusher and occasional team fighting but I can't seem to make it one game without a complaint about me splitting.

And can't win through splitting, I can't win through grouping, I can't win in general and I need advice.
