Xin Zhao's new role in the meta! could Devourer change Xin's lifestile in more than we think?

so you thought yi would be good with the new item? yes thats true. but what about shyvanna? ALSO TRUE! volibear? it can be yes! what about warwick and Aatrox and all those other poor losers that want this item?

WELL LOOK NO FARTHER! THE KING IS HERE BABY AND ITS NOT YOU FREAKIN JAX ITS XIN TO THE FREAKEN ZHAO BABY!

worried your three talon strike wont land because 3 auto attacks is too much? PROBLEM SOLVED BITCHES! HE KNOCKS UP YOUR MOTHER IN TWO THRUSTS NOW!

worried your W is lack luster for sustain? PROBLEM SOLVED! I GOT MORE HEALS THAN YOUR 5 LIFESTEAL BUILD CARRY NOOBS!

worried about stacking black cleaver? does it take too long? armor putting you down in the dumps? WHAT PROBLEMS? SHITS UP IN 3 SWINGS! NO ARMOR FOR YOU!

need more magic damage because physical wont cut it this game? WORRY NOT MY LOVES! AP ZHAO IS READY TO IMPREGNATE YOU WITH HIS CHARGING THRUST! SPEARS AND HEALZ.......... AND THEN MORE SPEARS!

on a serious note, this item is your new overload on xin zhao, the benefits from the proc is really great and adds a pseudo tanking effect via self healing should you build a BotRK and SV like most xin's do anyway. his CC is now even more reliable to land since it takes much less time to activate and his short term burst is greatly increased.

Only thing i might be worried about is xin's overall balance with this.

before this patch, xin was possibly the most balanced champion across the board with a steady 50% winrate, a moderate pick rate and a very low banrate with many item choices.

Now we have a new item that can become a core for xin on typically any game and has slightly no drawbacks since it still enables his ganking kit but allows him that steam roll potential for late game should he need it.

only thing i can see going wrong is that with this new item, AP xin is actually a viable thing and that both builds can have a wide variety of items after 1-2 core pieces which are not that hard to gain.

could we see a rise in xin's winrate to a dramatic level? possibly. would it be because he is overpowered? i dont think so. if anything, this large build diversity and viability through the entire stage of the game means that a straight counter to xin might no longer be an option. this alone could be a big issue. another problem that this has is a almost non-counter-able kit since there is almost no delay in his strong burst and crowd control combo.

overall i would say im very excited about xin and this new item and cannot wait to see how this folds out into the LCS. xin can make some pretty big #lcsbigplays with that ult dont cha know :P

sated ap xin is insane. he can facetank turrets without taking damage. it will be nerfed, hard. runeglaive's getting absolutely wrecked and it's not half as OP as devourer, so enjoy it while it lasts i guess.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation! I'm going to try him out but from reading our text I can already see that he's going to be very strong with this item. by the way you should try out Vayne. She procs Silver Bolts with every 2nd auto. I tried to build her Devour->Botrk->Withs End and from there on it's your choice. Your magic damage is then almost equal your physical damage adn you have tons of true damage:-)

Ap Zhao always destroyed turrets quickly with a lichbane and the healing from W, the new devourer does not change this since the proc does not work on towers unfortunately, but i can see why.

...if you farm jungle for sated, you are useless for your team, xin is known for his early game dmg combo that can kill anyone, not for lategame scaling; so you are not doing any good afk farming like yi or kayle, both of them have shittier ganks than you, but outscale xin with the new item and levels...

i dont think you understand how devourer works exactly.

You gain 1 stack from big monster kills you gain ANOTHER STACK FROM CHAMPION KILLS you gain TWO FOR SCUTTLE!!!! and 5 FOR BIG OBJECTIVES!

basically you get the devourer item while still ganking and doing big things like scuttle and dragons and you will get your 30 stacks by 20 minutes easy. by the time you get it your early game will have fallen off and xin begins to fall into a big scaling issue until hyper late game, this item bypasses this, then makes that late game better.

xin also does not lose any power by going into devourer like he would with warrior, cinder you would lose some survivability until you gain the extra lifesteal and W procs from the phantom hit though. This is because xin is a full on auto attacker and his kit reflects this. on hits work really good with him but his AD ratios are incredibly low ( its like what .25 total AD or something on Q and like a .6 on ult? )

basically your just trading in where the damage type goes to from all physical to a sort of half and half mix ( which is WAY better for any champ that can pull it off, this means you cant be countered by defensive items easily)

your comment is just silly honestly, seems you did not read how you gain stacks at all from devourer since a majority of them will be coming from the objectives and ganks xin actually likes to involve himself in.

Sry,, but your comment is silly, you expect someone to feed you or what? also going into devourer gives you no penetration for magic or physical dmg - 25 min into the game you can't counter armor or MR, also devourer into bork (most players will do this + boots) is expensive and you will not have great defense; xin is shitty yasuo that goes in and can't get out, you need tankiness, this item can't help him, because he is strong/weak depending on his numbers.

Xin is my main jungler (28W-11L) in low platinum and while I've never been a fan of devourer (prefer cinderhulk or warrior if snowballing) I've tried him out twice with the new devourer and I don't really think it's broken. Xin is a strong jungler because of his early ganking potential and the devourer largely encourages powerfarming until the morph and even with the morph it's still kind of meh... I won both games, going 5/9/27 and 7/9/12 in them (certainly not impressive) and built devourer / bork / tank but eh.. I guess I have to try some more games with it before really coming to an opinion but I really don't think it's that OP on him. I should probably also say that I've never played him AP so wouldn't have any opinion on that... and that I do think there are examples of junglers that are RIDICULOUSLY strong with the new item (Kayle, for sure).

Alright, idiot noob question here, do I go AP or AD Xin? I just got him, and I wanna know so I don't end up building like an idiot. So yeah, any advice would be sweet.
