"Flex Queue will be turned on right as preseason starts (coming with patch 6.22), with Solo/Duo Queue coming around a week later (November 14)." this is taken from a riot news article by Socrates link here: http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/competitive/how-rank-2017-season i read on the euw forums that solo Q was planned by riot to be released with the update that just came out last night, but it is being delayed because of problems with flex Q. Instead of keeping everyone in the dark and not mentioning anything at all about it, why not just be honest and open and if this is the case, state it and give us all the info that you have about the release of solo Q This is just my opinion, but seriously f* Flex Q, f* _ Duo Q_, there should be a ranked SOLO ONLY Q, for everyone not just the people who are good enough to be challenjours, AGAIN JUST IMO but i play this game a lot and i want it to be said. Seriously i play league everyday, its literally the only online/multiplayer game i play, and i know its preseason but in its current state i have absolutely no desire to play at all, which is pretty BS. The idea of going and spending 400 dollars on an Xbox One to play GoW4 and throwing my computer out the window is looking more and more enticing :3 Tried to make this as far from an angry rant as i could but yeah, pretty fed up with Flex Q and its only like a week in, and its not even the clown fiesta matchmaking, i welcome the chance to play higher level players (Been stomping some 2-3 Dia or high Plat players with all gold teams, lots of dia players saying my vayne is very nice) but i absolutely hate the idea of playing anything ranked with any amount of premade players, it literally makes me want to do things that im not going to elaborate on. I'm pretty positive everyone who's impatient for Solo Queue would be furious if Solo Queue had the same matchmaking issues that Flex Queue has had. People just need to chill and let Flex Queue be the guinea pig, getting a better Solo Queue after the matchmaking stuff is fixed.

solo Q isnt a new Q so it would never have the matchmaking issue flex has/had of course this is me speaking as someone who knows absolutely nothing about coding and developing programs/games

Flex Queue isn't a "new" Queue either, it's the exact same as Dynamic Queue. It pulled MMR from Dynamic Queue to form it's starting point, which unless I'm horribly wrong would be the same thing Solo/Duo Queue would do.

Dynamic Queue never had this problem, which means it's a new problem with the preseason. A new problem that's just as likely to effect Solo Queue.

If it didn't effect Solo Queue then Riot would have likely disabled Flex and enabled Solo while they fixed the problem.

It's the "same" but it isn't, It's a new ladder and under new coding. They didn't just copy paste what they already had and it didn't pull MMR directly from Dynamic Queue.

everyone does realize that the "matchmaking issues" were just a hard MMR reset, which all the kiddies crying about Dynamic Boosting begged for.

Now you have it. Surprise, that means when Challenger players are playing their promos to climb they're playing against you. hard MMR resets are great. I mean, Challenger players are getting placed in Gold/Plat, so it basically has to be the result of a hard MMR reset.

That, plus the notification that's active right now:

We have rolled out a potential fix for the matchmaking issues in Ranked. If you have already placed into a League, you will need to play one additional placement game to determine your new ranking.

I don't think Riot intended this to be a hard reset, although I certainly agree it's effectively one.

Cause it isn't really a hard reset, you're correct. What it is, is a new ladder. New ladder = no established MMR ladder = problems. It even says in the how to rank up in 2017 Dev Corner post that playing games right now is to help ESTABLISH a ladder. So many people are so ignorant.

challenger players are always placed no higher than plat when a new season starts, so whether there is a hard reset or not they can't start higher than plat.

I mean it's a problem when one person on my friends list that was silver 5 0 LP gets placed silver 2 in preseason when my gold 1 friend gets placed bronze 3.

It wasn't a "hard reset" on purpose for one, and for two, it wasn't a true hard reset (partially because it wasn't supposed to be). They took dq as a rough template and tried to make the reset somewhere between a hard and soft reset so people would fall close to a real mmr they previously were, but fuxed it all up in the process, hence the issues that people have been having from bronze to challenger.

No what's lame is they have said a few things, but only on Reddit. I have seen two different Rioters talking about Flex queue already and how it wasn't an intentional hard reset, and it is having some issues, and both of them saying Solo Queue is coming this patch 100%, etc.

The PROBLEM is they refuse to say these same things as openly and easily seen on their on website or...anywhere but Reddit.

I mostly agree with you, and i do hate to be the guy that makes a post like this, for the most part i appreciate everything Riot does and all the work they do and all the flak they take from gamers, this is actually my first post on a board ever, and i've played the game for 3 years now. I just dont like being left in the dark, if they know something they should say it as soon as they know enough about it to have an official Riot statement, it keeps people like me at least somewhat satisfied, if there is a problem im upset, if you at least tell me the who what when where why how of it, im still upset there is a problem but at least im informed about the cause and the plan to reconcile it. If they just released a simple statement with the update it would keep the masses more settled and save them the trouble of having to read rito pls a million times

Can people stop eating the shit riot is feeding us? This is EXACTLY the same as the last time solo q was promised, EXACTLY the same. They aren't delaying it because "enabling a que is hard hurr durr", they are delaying it because they want to try and get dynamic que/flex que to a better spot first.

People are giving them slack for years and what did it amount to?

After 2 years (officially; the truth is there was nearly zero lore development after they stopped mentioning IoW and discontinued JoJ in 2012, so it's actually 4 and a half year.) we don't even have... a map. The core element of any world-building. It doesn't exist.

You mean how they said merely 11% of people were upset about removal of Solo Queue for the sake of Dynamic Queue, which according to their later claims about the size of the playerbase equals to 11 million people... which ironically is about 100% of ranked population outside of Garena and China.

i guess the reason people are freaking out is, because this is similar to what happened last season.

first the promise to enable solo que a week or two after dyn que, then it was delayed to a month, then absolute silence and at some point a few month later, they came out and said solo que was gone for good.

No one is going to cut them any slack because this is damn near exactly what happened the start of season 6.

DQ is out "solo queue will be in a few weeks don't worry guys" Then another week "no really, solo queue". Then Riot Lyte (the guy who had mostly been saying that over and over again) left Riot. Then nothing but silence. Then MONTHS later "Yeah, Solo Queue isn't coming back."

Seems a bit too familiar.
