8W - 2L in Placements - Bronze V

Cupcake Carnage··1 votes·1,354 views

I won 8 consecutive placement matches playing as support. I then lost the ninth because a player on my team went afk at lvl 3. I also lost the last one, leaving me with 8W and 2L in placements overall.

I got to Bronze V. This is outrageous. Something must be done about this. It will take me over a year to get back to Silver. I wonder how Riot will explain this one.

Sorry man, but if it takes you a year to get to silver you need to blame someone other than Rito. [slayer-jinx-wink]

How come? It is literally impossible to climb if you are Silver-skill level and play with 4 Bronze 5 players.

Solo carries. item 3041 If you win more and more in a row, you climb at an exponential rate.

90% of Silver is the same thing as Bronze.

My Advice is play Vel'koz. I'd say that 80% of bronze players don't even know what his abilities do, and I carried out of Bronze on him. Doesn't get harder on him until high Silver.

Dude there are people that had silver with a 3 w 18 l last season..... if you went down to be from silver you were about there.

If you went 6/4 with average silver 4 or 5 mmr you'd go b2 or 3......8/2 and you're b5........

Ps- you can get silver from bronze... done it 3 times now. Just mute all and listen to calming music.

Everyone in Bronze got put in Bronze 5. You were Bronze 2 last season, so you got placed in Bronze 5.

Then why the hell do they make me play placement matches to begin with? I am so frustrated I don't know what to do. So demotivating.

Yes they need to add the option to just start B5 and skip placements if you were S5 or less in the previous season.

Just means your ELO was low to start with, so your 8 games you won were in the B4/5 area. Many of us that were B1 last season started in B5. It sucks but it is what it is, most people I know are S5 now, I'm not as lucky still in B2. The climb took about 100 games, so you'll get there sooner rather then later. And if you don't go on Tilt like I do sometimes you'll do it in less then me.

It says that the highest placement you can get is Platinum 1. If I only have 10 games to play, I can NEVER climb in ELO high enough to get to Gold, let alone Platinum.

Too bad inorder to even get a placement near or in plat you have to have reached it in the first place.. so the placements are quite accurate.

If you were bronze you're 99.99% gonna be placed in bronze, if you are silver then you have a 50% chance of being placed Bronze and so on. Like I went 4/6 this season in placements and surprisingly got placed in Silver 3 which was exactly where I was placed last season after going 5/5. So my MMR was still pretty high and shows that if I had won more of them then it was possible to be placed back in gold, as I was gold in season 4.

Do what I'm doing. You should play a stupid champ to gold. May I recommend item 3931 Jax / MasterYi / Irelia , Diana with item 1402 , and item 3812 Darius ?

We all had to do placements. If they just let all the Bronze get B5 without doing placements it wouldn't be fair for us other Elo players who had to do 10 placement matches to go down 1 division. For the record though, do you know anyone who actually went UP in Elo after placements? I hear ya though man, feels bad to do so well (8/10) and not get at least B4. On the bright side, if you are really 'silver' or so, you get to enjoy carrying your B5 team to victory :)

"Carrying" a team is anything but fun. When you work hard but nothing pays off because we have a AP MF jungle and Ekko adc.

Also, it wouldn't be unfair at all. If I was to get 5 pentakills in 10 games in a row and carry the team to a perfect placement run, I would end up exactly the same place as if I was to go 0/50/0 and lose all of them. It is pointless to do the placement matches if you are under S5.

I'm not 100% on this but I think playing different roles and winning in those different roles has something to do with placements as well as where you finished out last year. I too went 8-2 in my placements this year after finishing Silver 2 last year and I was placed in Silver 5. Also, what I learned is that if you want to get to higher elo quickly, you have to learn to carry. You can't just keep playing support and hope to move up quickly because support is the hardest role to carry from. Toplane if you take TP you can make teleport plays bot lane and help carry that way, Mid you can roam top or bot to help snowball other lanes, jg you can obviously impact any lane or counterjg to make the other jg useless, and adc obviously you can carry with damage output. Hope this helps.

i was plat 4 during preseason; dropped to gold 4 in placements, and am now back in plat 4.

yes, it drops you heavily, hell I went 3 and 7 in my placements, i deserved to drop that much.

i climbed back up, it's been a couple months of playing on and off, not really too heavy on it.

my only problem now is that queueing takes like... 20 minutes to find a match.

basically, if you deserve to be higher ranked, you would and will be if you just play, there's no point in complaining.
