CAN WE GET BLUE ESSENCE AFTER A GAME, LIKE WE DID WITH IP?

I've been playing league since Season 5. I've loved every minute of it.. Now it's not the same.... There is nothing worse than finishing a game and literally feeling like you've accomplished nothing. It takes ages to level up, more so, you receive little to no blue essence when you do. Riot, please make league great again.

The new system is absolutely horrid and toxic to new players. From what i can tell, the capsules are 100% random, meaning that if you are unlucky, you can play up to 12 games to gain a level only to be rewarded with 90BE in the worst case scenario. Riot best adress this or i promise you, there will be a massive drop in new players. Here is the new player experience in season 8 in a nutshell: Open game with 140+ characters, see 6300BE character you really want. Realise that in theory, if you only get 90BE every level, you will have to be level 70 before you can get that ONE character. Now of course we are talking about the most unlucky person in the world for that to happen to. But the fact that it's a possibility is absolute bullshit.

example

get anything under an A- you get 20 blue essence

A- to A+ 40 blue essence

S- 45

S 50

S+60

winning a game is +20 BE

the most you can get for a game is 80 BE, minimum is 20

Rito said that they'd merge IP and Blue Essence but there is no such thing as earning anything for Influence in a game anymore. I don't feel like we are getting rewarded for playing the game anymore.

This new system that give champion shards when you level is unfair to people who are level 30, but don't have all the champions. It not only makes it really hard to buy new champions, but IMPOSSIBLE to get higher costing ones (4800,6300) because of how many times you need to level to get them.

Even worse the fact that the champion shards are random and might give a cheap champion which gives you almost no blue essence!

Even something like this would at least make the new system tolerable. I cannot imagine playing one or two games for ten days in a row only to end up with 800 BE or less- not even enough to unlock a 1350 champion shard.

So my husband and I just spend the last 2 evenings playing to get to level 31, we played 9 games in total, of which 2 wins of the day.

Now according to my match history pre-'pre-season' we earned around 260 IP for a win of the day, and between 60 and 100 for the other games, depending on their length. So, in the old system let's say 2x 260IP + 7x 80IP games = **1080IP earned. ** Today we hit 31, I get 2 champ shards worth a total of 600IP in disenchanting and my husband got 2x 90IP disenchant and one a little over 300 (if only I remembered the exact numbers), so a total of 400-500IP!

So I wonder, how is that in about the same rate as before? Even if I said we only earned 60IP per game and 250 per win of the day before it wouldn't add up to what we got out of the leveling capsule. This was so incredibly demoralizing.... I mean, I'm dying to get Zoe and need 22 more champs to fill the roster (all 4800 & 6300) and I guess now I'll never get that without cashing in real money. It will take me between 10-11 level ups at this rate to earn a new champ >.< Not to mention masteries are completely out of the question now, 3200 for a mastery 7? I mean.... what? I need to level up 8 times to get a mastery 7 for showoff? ..... I really thought it would be on par if not a little easier to earn the champions now, but this is horribly sad and demoralizing.

This system is now broken now. I hate how we only get XP after games, like even if it was 50 blue after a game it would be nice. Getting nothing after games makes league horrible, not getting any rewards after games is stupid.

What if we got small amounts of white essence after a game, which could be used as both blue AND orange...?

Also we need costume drops and skin fragments that drop after a game. like... a loot table for 50% 520 skin fragment, 30% for the next tier, 10% for the next tier, and 1% for 1850 and above skin fragments. Each skin could take 10 fragments....

I already have every champion but I still agree with this. After finishing a game it was always nice to see your IP go up up and up feeling like you get something. But now it really doesn't feel that rewarding at all. I also saved my IP for changing my username. (Ofc. this is just some random thing not really what IP is really focused for, it's more for champions) but still had something to do with the IP I got after each game I played. The infinite lvl. cap is really nice for sure, but it doesn't feel that rewarding.

Also it'll be so hard for new players to get champions now because first win of the day is now just XP instead of IP (BE now obv.) Definitely think we should get SOME amount of BE after each game so new players have it a lil. bit easier to get new champs and so it feels more rewarding.. [sg-ahri-2]

A good idea would be to use the mission system and get the Be as reward for accomplishing missions. U should choose between 5 paths every week (like support , adc , jungle and so on) and the misssions are adjusted for the path you have taken. And the missions are resetted every week so u can take the next time some other path. Not only will the players be rewarded for accomplishing missions but the not so good players will get better cause they focus then mostly on one path to get the Be as fast as possible. And you can change your path every week if you want to try something different, well that would be really nice but i think my hope will be crushed. [sg-soraka]

new system is complete BS. And while they wanted to "replace IP grinding" (quote by Riot) what they did is added XP grinding which is much much much less appealing than the system before. When you lose you get quite a small amount of XP, when you win you still don't feel any kind of the reward. I want my money now. Not to work on some vague potential money (which are not a fixed amount as far as I know)

They do whatever they want, they "consider"(my ass) player's opinions(pbe=bullshit), and god forbid you talk shit to them about how badly they're ruining a great game because they don't know how to get their heads out of their asses. I give this game one more year before half the players quit.

OMG I just received 270 BE after 4 levels. Before that I think I earned less than 100. I'm level 39 now.

I spent ALL of my Project tokens on Blue Essence even though there are a ton of great things I could have done with them. It makes me a little sad but at the end of the day, you can't gain levels 6 and 7 mastery without blue essence(unless you have your champion shard). Or in my case, I recently got my first EVER level 6 on a champion. I didn't know the rules of leveling up. I only knew that I had to get S tokens. I had JUST turned in the champion shard for BE, not knowing that I would then have to use a MUCH MUCH LARGER amount of Blue Essence to get my Level 6. This practice of paying(spending our time to get these RANDOM shard drops/blue essence) to level up to something we've earned (S tokens for a champ) is unethical.

Also NOW you can buy Blue Essence. If you're wondering what I mean, all of the champion shard chests you could buy can be disenchanted into BE. This used to not bother me so much since there was IP and BE/OE was a different. There never used to be a way to outright buy IP. Now if you have it you can spend money on chests and disenchant shards for all the BE. Also, since different champion shards are worth different amounts of BE and depending on the price of the champion, you won't even be getting your money's worth if you have the money to spend.

It really is unbelievable to me. I know there were a lot of complaints before about how slow the IP-getting was... and now this? I started a new account. It's level 6. You get Ashe, Brand, and Garen for free the first few levels you play. And then the Loot system opens up and would you believe it? BE drops at the SAME RATE as it does for those of us who were already 30. You need to own 20 (TWENTY) champions before you can play Draft Pick.

This system really screws over new players more than anything. Even I feel screwed and I own all but 20 champs. I wish I had played more before patch 7.22 and marathoned league with IP until I could afford all of the champions. If only we, the community, had known how bad this new system was going to be...

Now they're apparently changing it "soon" to where you will receive 400XP and 40BE for your FirstWin/Day instead of 575XP. So you're telling me I have to win a game every day for 158 days to get a 6300BE champion? It will be less than that number of days, of course. Let's do math.

At level 39 I received three champion shards (270+270+90=630BE) and 270BE. 630+270=900. Now these so-called "milestone" levels are not included in this calculation. Let's assume I receive this amount of disenchantable champ shards and BE every level, which I think is an incredibly generous assumption. Let's assume I have a busy schedule so I only play for my first win of the day and I only have to play one game per day. Let's assume that instead of 575XP, I will get the 400XP and 40BE per day(since that should be taking effect very soon). I'm forced to make other assumptions as well, like for example my total experience needed to level from 39 to 40 is 3072XP. Now obviously this XP requirement increases with level. In these calulations if it will just be 3072. It won't increase. I feel like this is a fair trade off as I am not including the excess XP I would earn from the one game I would play per day.

3072XP/400XP per day=7.68 or 8 days to gain a level. One level grants 900 BE. 8days x 40BE per day=320BE In 8 days I will gain 1220BE.

1220BE per level(so to speak) means it would require at least 6 levels to buy a 6300BE champion. 6300BE/1220BE per level=5.16 levels or 6 levels. (All of these things have to be rounded up because you can't buy things in a deficit and we're including the 40 per day in the level). 6 levels x 8 days = 48 days. Now of course it's probably less than that, but most of my days are ONLY FirstWin/Day days because I'm a single mother and I'm flippin' busy.

48 days for a 6300BE champion.

If you're like me and you own every champion <4800BE then (unless Riot disables this) you'll be able to get a random expensive champion for 3950BE using the Mystery Champion purchase.

3950BE/1220BE per level=3.24 or 4 levels. 4 levels x 8 days = 32 days

32 days for a random champion.

Unfortunately because of the nature of this system and different trade-offs, there's no guarantee in any of these maths. Let me explain: now every time I receive a champion shard I play the champion(if I own it) in some AI games and a couple real games so that I can gauge whether or not I may EVER want to gain a level on that champion. Basically I don't disenchant any of my champion shards (I'm not paying 3250BE or more for a S level!!!) so until I get duplicates I'm gaining 40BE a day(when that starts like it said it would in the patch notes but it has not as of the day I'm posting this) and HOPEFULLY a sizable BE drop every other level or so. So it's going to take me FOREVER to get the rest of my champions.

There's other considerations as well. I know my next champion to buy is Graves because I got a shard for him that makes him only cost 2880BE. You might use the formula above and say well it will take you even less time to make 2880, but that doesn't really apply to me because I don't disenchant champion shards now that I had to spend 3250BE on an S rank. My numbers are actually closer to 320BE per level.

I have 336BE. 2880BE - 336BE= 2544BE for Graves because I have his champion shard. It would take me 2544BE/320BE per level which is 7.95 or 8 levels. 1 level takes 8 days but let's say on my day off a play little more than that and give me a level per week(especially since now the levels are beginning to cost more and more). Basically it would take me 8 weeks to get Graves. That time will be shortened only by some BE drops, or duplicate champ shards.

56 days to get 2880BE Graves for me because I save more BE in the long run if I use the champ shards to gain mastery levels than if I pay BE.

Are you sick of reading this yet? Is it painful for you yet? Are you beginning to get an idea of your OWN numbers and how long it will take you? Would you spare a MOMENT for my level 6 account that I REFUSE to spend money on where I have to own TWENTY champions to do anything (450BE champs first of course) and then subsequently spare a moment for the newcomer to League of Legends? Are you beginning to see the insanity?

I hope the math is helpful to both Riot and other users. Sorry it's probably difficult to read it all.

I've been playing on and off since Season 2 or 3. It was Preseason 3(technically Season 2?) or Season 3 I THINK but back then I wasn't tracking the LCS or anything so I really don't know. It doesn't matter. I'm really disappointed. I feel like the whole game is turning into a scam.

I own 143 skins and I don't regret them. They're beautiful in game and they're fun. I think I've rolled MAYBE two or three skins in LOOT tab. I paid for 140 of them.

Yes, I do feel entitled. Because I didn't have to spend that much money on this game, but I did. I feel like I deserve an easier way to acquire these champions for dedicating my time and money to the game...

But this? This is diabolical, despicable and avaricious.

I have been playing this game for many years. And the reason this game got so huge in the first place. Was for people who played regularly, the cash shop was 100% optional. The new BE system punishes players who play more in a day, a reward the daily one game people to an extent that its not even rewarding at all to play alot of games in a day vs playing daily anymore.

The change wont affect those people who can play 6 hours a day or whatever "at least at lower levels i think" but it still promotes playing daily over just playing how you want to play here and there in binges to increase your skill. It feels like a mobile game daily login reward. Plus if you dont login daily for your fwotd you are gaining BE extremely slow compared to the old system, forcing you into a corner of having to buy champs with RP instead of just playing enough to own them.

Remove the fact that the cash shop was completely optional before as long as you played enough, control how and when people play by forcing them to play daily for the xp bonus, and corner many people into having to buy RP to own champs. And you are destroying the very core of what made League popular in the first place. It has been the f2p model I compared every game to. And now its just another one you can never really keep up with without forcing yourself to play when you dont want to, or forcing yourself to play daily even if you would rather play something else.

I am on hiatus till this is changed. And if it never is, I may never play again. November I dropped 100 on RP in excitement for the new patch. And spent all my BE in the BE shop not knowing these changes to our rewards would be so bad and restricting. Now I just feel ripped off and betrayed.

Update on the rewards, after I grinded day after day.

I think I've played over 30-40 games those past days, got to level 33 (boards didn't update it yet), but all I got were 2x810 BE ( 4 trash champion shards ) and 1x960 ( decent, but still trash champion shard ).

A total of 2,580 BE. And in the old system we would get 3,500 - 4,500 BE(IP) for those many games, without taking in consideration the 3 first wins I got.

The new way to earn BE is ridiculous. I really appreciated "Raivex" comment. Gave a huge perspective on both lower level players who don't own all of the champions and higher level players who own most of the champions. It's extremely frustrating trying to earn the champions you want. I understand that Riot THINKS they have created a better system because to them, when you level up you get loot, which usually contains 1-3 champion shards that are significantly cheaper than normal price and anywhere from about 60-300 BE. In Riot's eyes, they think "Hey, they are getting champions for less and if they don't want those champions you can disenchant them. But there are two problems with this.

  1. It is significantly harder to get the champions that YOU want and this somewhat forces you to buy the champions that you are given as opposed to the champions you want because of the difficulty to obtain a CONSISTENT amount of BE and thus wanting to get champions for cheaper than normal.

  2. I have leveled up 7 times since the new update and nearly every time I get low cost champion shards like annie, ashe, ect. which only gives me 90BE. I've probably played around 100+ games since the new BE system came out and I have only obtained 1 new champion. This is a significant amount of games to be played and only being rewarded with 1 new champion

I thoroughly enjoyed grinding League nights with my friends to get the champions that I want. But now, I feel like I can't buy the new champions that I want to play. ( I really want Zoe. But I've saved up for three weeks and still I cannot afford her and I've played a lot). I especially feel bad for those who don't have the time to grind out this many games to simply get one champion.

I feel like there can be a few solutions to players not feeling like they are getting rewarded for playing while still getting the champions they want to play.

  1. Bring back re-rolling champions. 2 or 3 per re-roll.

It's extremely frustrating to open a loot capsule to see an Annie or an Ashe... AGAIN. Since I already own them, I'd rather save that shard and be able to re-roll it to a random champion that I do not own instead of feeling like Riot spit in my face by giving me 90BE for a level up. Some players may not even want to disenchant a champion shard so that they can instead use that champion shard to turn it into an increased level mastery, thus resulting in a 0 BE reward upon leveling up.

  1. Give BE based off of your Honor rank per game/log in.

I know Riot has given us a new Honor system to try to make us less toxic in game and rewards us by giving us key fragments when we log in. But I'm on my 7th key (21 fragments) now with no chests because I've already gotten chests on most of the champions I play. If they instead gave us BE during this random log in phases it would not only get players to strive to be less toxic in game, but also help us out with some champion purchasing power. Maybe they could even give us some BE post game.

For example.

Honor lvl 1 - 25 BE per game/random log in reward Honor lvl 2 - 35 BE per game/random log in reward Honor lvl 3 - 50 BE per game/random log in reward Honor lvl 4 - 60 BE per game/random log in reward Honor lvl 5 - 75 BE per game/random log in reward

I'm not saying it has to be just as much as the old system but give us something.

  1. Daily BE (not just BE off of first win of the day) based off player lvl with a BE limit.

This would help with the problem for those who only have time to play one or two games a day. I know a lot of people who play League can only squeeze in a few games during their busy day, especially those who have full time jobs and families. However, if they do not get a win within those few games, then they do not receive their small 50 BE per day. This can be extremely frustrating for some and can make the process of getting a new champion take even longer.

For example,

Player lvl 1-10 (200 BE daily with 10,000 BE limit) Player lvl 11-20 ( 150 BE daily with 8000 BE limit) Player lvl 21-30 (100 BE daily with 6000 BE limit) Player lvl 31-50 (75 BE daily with 5000 BE limit) Player lvl 50+ (50 BE daily with 3500 BE limit)

Notice I believe the limit is important to prevent players from simply logging in daily to collect their BE without actually playing the game. This would incentivize lower level players to not level up so they can stack BE.

  1. Give players guaranteed BE per level up based off player lvl.

Players could receive a set amount of BE per level up. This would help both assist the newer, lower level players gain a large champion pool quickly and give the higher level players some BE to buy the last remaining champions that, again, THEY want to play. Personally, I feel like if we want to main a specific role, it shouldn't be a struggle for the lower leveled players to obtain all of the champions in that role quickly. Even though Riot gives us discounted champions shards, it could easily take 5-8 levels to obtain enough BE for a new champion with disenchanting OR the lower leveled players would have to get lucky enough to get a shard for a champion in their desired role.

For the higher leveled players, we are constantly getting shards that we either already own or don't want. This, at least for me, makes me feel like I cannot buy the champions that I want. Thus, if you gave us an expected amount of BE on top of the shards we get. We can at least look forward to getting some BE towards the champion we want.

For example,

Player lvl 1-10 (1000 BE per capsule) Player lvl 11-20 ( 800 BE per capsule) player lvl 21-30 (400 BE per capsule) Player lvl 30-50 (200 BE per capsule) Player lvl 50+ (100 BE per capsule)

With this, from lvls 1-10 you would obtain 10,000 BE which is enough to buy a decent size champion pool of lower cost champions. As you scale through lvl 20 you are guaranteed another 8000 BE which can buy you a high cost champion within the role that you now main. Up to level 30, before you can enter ranked play, this gives you a chance to find back-up champions for the role or roles that you want to play in case your main get's banned. As you go past level 30 the guaranteed BE will drop, but you will still be able to at least feel like you have the opportunity to save up.

  1. Give players a set amount of champion shards when opening loot capsules for various levels of BE disenchanting. (Higher amount for lower leveled players)

As I said earlier, I have leveled up 7 times and in at least 2 of the capsules, I only received a single champion shard worth 90 BE. No matter what level you are, this is simply not worth the number of games required to level up to only receive 90 BE. In the past, you could get 90 IP off of one game. Now, I'm not entirely sure how much BE you get from disenchanting different cost champions, but I believe its something like this.

450 BE = 90 BE after disenchantment 1350 BE = 270 BE after disenchantment 3150 BE = 630 BE after disenchantment 4800 BE = 960 BE after disenchantment 6300 BE = 1260 BE after disenchantment.

Players lvl 1-10 Receive 4 champion shards with at least a guaranteed 6300 champion

Players lvl 11-20 Receive 3 champion shards with at least a guaranteed 4800 champion

Players lvl 21-30 Receive 3 champion shards with at least a guaranteed 3150 champion

Players lvl 31-50 Receive 2 champion shards with at least a guaranteed 3200 champion

Players lvl 50+ Receive 2 champion shards with at least a guaranteed 1350 champion.

For lower leveled players, they would have the opportunity to both save a champion shard that they want and disenchant those that they don't want. Again, this would help build the champion pool early for lower leveled players while also giving some BE for the higher leveled players to save up for the champions they want.

  1. Reduce the cost of crafting mastery levels by 1/2 or 2/3.

It costs nearly the same to buy a new champion and obtain mastery lvl 6 or 7 for a champion you own. This causes players to make the tough decision (after grinding 30+ games) "Do I want that new and higher mastery, or do I want a new champion to play. The price to obtain a mastery is way to high and this can discourage people from mastering up their champions.

  1. Increase the minimum amount of BE acquired from disenchanting champion shards.

Again, this goes back to me receiving an Annie shard after leveling up and that's all I got. 15 or 20 games of playing to receive 90BE. It's just not enough to make me feel like I have achieved anything from playing this game.

Minimum amount of BE per disenchant to 200 BE.

Most of these solutions, that I believe are somewhat reasonable, doesn't even require players to get BE after each and every game. It comes down to the simple fact that it is extremely difficult for players to earn enough BE to buy new champions in a reasonable amount of time which doesn't make League even feel like it's still worth playing.

This new system causes problems for both low leveled players and high leveled players.

The lower leveled players cannot build their champion pool quickly enough to enter draft pick games and in same cases even ranked games. The higher leveled players feel like they are forced to buy champions that they don't want to play and struggle to save up for champions that they would rather own. With the new BE system it requires a significant amount of luck to obtain a reasonable amount of BE. I mean yeah, it's possible to get 3 shards of champions to disenchant for a total of roughly 1.5-3k BE, but the odds are really stacked against you and if you are a player who is struggling to build a champion pool it can be extremely discouraging to continue to play this game.

Sorry for the long read, I've read a lot of comments in this post and I felt like I would do my best to not only explain the reasoning as to why I feel like the League community is frustrated, but I've also attempted to offer, what I believe, are reasonable solutions to both help lower leveled players and higher leveled players.

I have a friend who just started and it feels impossible for them to increase their champion pool cause they keep getting unlucky with their chest drops. I've been playing since season 2 and it feels like you don't get rewarded anymore for any game play. I could sit their and as long as avoid leaver buster I would get the same out of a game that I carry hard in. Doesn't seem like its worth it.
