Wasn't Normals to try those things that might work?
So I've been wanting to try out Muramana Jhin with both IBG and the new TF. This person suggested me try out

for boots. Honestly, it sounded great. Jhin has the highest base mana of ADCs (while on that subject, I don't think Jhin's an ADC as much as he is a super high burst AD Caster, but that's another subject), and the second highest base AD at 18 of ADCs (behind Urgot). While It might fall short of full/near full crit build norm in terms of straight out damage, honestly it sounded good. Bonus damage from Muramana passive once completely stacked, no mana problems early on, there's still bonus AS from boots and Triforce to feed into his passive, Black cleaver helped him with the fact that he can't shred through tanks as easily as other marksmen, Spellblade deals an extra ~230 damage and the Rage passive + Fourth shot speed boost + Frozen Mallet slow = Kite and chase for days should someone get caught out. Not to mention the health (hey, living more = more damage dealt in a time frame) and the full CDR he got from just two items (which Jhin values highly).
Onto the point of this thread, I was playing Jhin mid and decided to try out this build, and I was laning against an Ahri. During the laning phase, I completely managed to out trade her despite having next to no sustain compared to her with her passive. I was raking up kills pretty easily, and took out mid turret pretty quickly with the help of my jungler, as well as the first two dragons uncontested (a wind drag and a fire one). That was when the top laner, a Sion, decided to start bashing me, questioning my build and straight up calling it "AP Jhin" despite me clearly building AD. And he was saying I was feeding when the enemy team decided to focus me under tower because I was building "AP" despite it being pretty clear that I would have died had I built regularly (meaning
and stuff like that). I understand that playing Jhin and getting some kills will eventually put a target on my head, fuck, I main him mid knowing exactly the kind of attention I can draw to myself shall I do remotely well in lane. He then decided to completely stop playing by saying "consider this game a 4 v 5 for you guys" and he just roamed around clearing jungle camps and dancing in front of enemies. As you can imagine, everything went downhill from there, without a tanky frontliner to guard the backline. I still managed to farm up well enough for a Bronze MMR game, and got some extra kills here and there, but that was obviously not enough when the enemy team grabbed Elder drag for that burn over time effect and such (honestly, all they had was a wind drag, they should have went for baron, still would have won considering our frontline was a lone hybrid Rek'sai). At the end game screen, he continued harassing me despite me being able to stall out the game long enough with the mere threat of dealing damage onto the squishies (which was their whole team minus a Wukong). Even Ahri stood up for me by saying that I managed to bully her in lane which must have meant I was doing something better than her. To top it off, he said that "next time you try out a new build, let me know so I can troll again."
I don't get these people that treat Normals like games where you can't take any risks or venture out of the norm unless you're completely sure of what you're doing (aka Ranked). It's looking outside the box where you find these things that could work quite well, the Korean Lucian, the PD + TF Bruiser Yasuo, the Tank Fizz (fuck Fizz). Normals are where you practice with champions, but where you can also completely test out new build ideas to have something in your pocket that others will not expect. Fuck, while I'm typing this up, I just realized Enemy Twisted Fate (who was doing Jungle) went with an ADC-esque jungler build by getting Bloodrazor and BotRK, and he was contributing enough to his team (by focusing me when they had the chance and I pushed too hard in lane and then simply being around when teamfights came around). I'm not as salty as much as mildly annoyed by the fact that there are people out there that think that there is only one way to build and play a champion when LoL being the game it is should NEVER be the case. At the end, I still got a positive KDA ratio (albiet, just barely), I farmed well enough for a bronzie (still unranked but I presume Im at bronze level), and I stalled out long enough despite should have simply surrendering the moment Sion decided to be a child. Kha'Zix says it himself, Change is good. Changing to do something new but still makes some sense especially.
