What's the point of ARSR?

Is it seriously just play a champ you don't want to play on summoners rift? If I wanted to play a full normal game, wouldn't I just go play summoners rift and pick a champ I wanted to play/learn?

Just went into a game and everyone on my team thought it was crap, so we just went mid until it was over, while the enemy team (full of mages/adc's) talked shit the entire game. Wot.

Feels like it's designed to make you appreciate the other game modes. "Well crap, I didn't like Nexus Siege... But it's starting to look pretty good I guess..."

but its such a creative game mode, must have taken forever to think of it

All it really does is exacerbate problems that ARAM has. In aram having 1-2 mages, 1-2 tanks, 1-2 adcs, maybe a few melees is really all you need for skill to decide the game. In ARSR you need a JG champ, a mage, ADC, support, and top (or hope that the enemy team has a worse/same comp as you). A bad team comp can be punished considerably more in ARSR because of roaming, lane matchups, objective taking, and jungle clear times.

Bad idea IMO, but I guess it's at least something new.

Its actually pretty fun. However, it is to be taken with a grain of salt. Its a nice, chill game-mode, where things are random, and you can just play the game in different ways than you normally would.

The game mode is absolute shit & such a waste of time. Riot: "OOO BOI' LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! YOU BETTER BUCKLE THE FUCK UP BECAUSE WE HAVE SUCH A FUN, NEW, GAME MODE FOR YOU! IT'S JUST REGULAR SUMMONERS RIFT, BUUUUUUT, IT'S ALL RANDOM! WOO! SO MUCH FUN!" Just give us URF, not this bullshit.

This game mode isn't for common folks. It's for chill ppl who would try to make the most out of what they're given and pull off random stuffs, just like how there was one game where pro players went Ashe Draven Ezreal Jinx and made it work by stacking 4 ults altogether.

I suppose riot wishes the community to take a step out of meta, but since that's not happening they introduce the randomization to hopefully allow us to find out some interesting interaction we never tried before, but that's not going to happen considering the nature of this player base.

The point is to see what you can do with a random comp and do your best with what you're given, I'm having an absolute blast with it, but hey, I guess it's not for you.

"Ok, but why though?" is all I've been saying about this game mode since it was 1st announced. Played one game of it & I still say the same thing. Well, I'll just wait for something like Hexakill TT, Blood Moon or any other game mode I feel like playing.

It scratches my nemesis itch somewhat. I like playing ridiculous things and not feel guilty that I'm maybe ruining the game for my teammates, plus since the opposing team is potentially similarly whacky I can actually sometimes find success in my silly champ/role combination which gives me a special joy.

It seems like only newer players actually like this game mode. It's just tedious for everyone else. Then it's back into the dark until next weekend.
