Kleptomancy Thoughts
I've seen discussions on Kleptomancy, and a lot of talk about Gangplank, Ezreal, and Fiora and their on-hit applying abilities. I've not seen this particular issue. I don't mind Kleptomancy, I think it's decently balanced over the course of the game, but I think it should be interpreted slightly differently to be equivalent for all champions. According to the Rune: After using an ability, your next attack will grant bonus gold if used on a champion. There's a chance you'll also gain a consumable. I propose: After using an ability, your next attack will grant bonus gold if it hits a champion. There's a chance you'll also gain a consumable. To explain: If Ezreal Qs and doesn't hit anything, he can then auto a champion and still proc Kleptomancy. Between using an ability and hitting a champion with an on-hit application, he has missed a champion with an on-hit application. I think this should be penalized, if the Q misses then the auto after using an ability has missed. Contrary to this example is Graves. I've tested what happens if the current definition of the Rune is used and Graves is left out: if you E, then use an auto on a champion but miss, you do not get gold. Between using an ability and hitting a champion with an on-hit application, he has missed a champion with an on-hit application. Graves has exactly the opposite result as Ezreal though and doesn't get any gold. (I will attempt to check at some point the result of Blinding on Kleptomancy. I think it keeps you from triggering it after using an ability and using your next auto on a champion. I am not currently certain and don't have someone to play a custom with to check.)
