Is it possible for Predator to get triggered on accident by other movement speed abilities or skill? I think it was a bug but I'm not sure what either, I'm just saying.

i have more of a problem with how heracarim is already lvl 2 and sits there for 10 more seconds in that bush before the second waves just crashed into each other on mid lane.

red buff and the numbers advantage with the enemy laner is apparantly not enough for riot. they have to be half a level up on their lanes at this stage of the game aswell.

fuck the jungle man. i wish theyd actually have to farm for their levels like any other lane. but riot wants the early game to be a nonstop fucking gank fiesta where junglers gain enough xp off their camps to gank all 3 lanes before they have to go back to farming a camp.

dunder kill29 votes

Dude its obviously a bug lul. Woaw dude jungle so OP because they hit level 2 first then fall behind in levels for the rest of the game

Just for curiosity, (not trying to insult), do you even play jungle? PS Your op.gg/board profile is...i dont know, it says you re level 12

occationally, yes. for my main role? no.

but the fact that junglers can still mostly sit around enemy lanes not doing shit but repeat gank the same lane, because camp respawn timers are so long, and the jungle xp mechanic rewards this shit playstile is really fucking dumb.

the free time between their clears, and their ability to gank should still be tuned back.

TempName548463 votes

you know what the best part is? sitting in a lane bush gets you more xp early on than actually clearing your jungle these days.

KlydeFrog2 votes

It doesnt but okay

TempName548461 votes

eh it depends on which camps you have up, what champion you are playing and how the waves are positioned but generally speaking after a fairly standard path it does.

HungryAngry2SPP3 votes

I don't know, when i play jg I find it stupid staying in lane bush wasting gold and especially exp for POSSIBLE kills. Does it even work?

youre not really wasting xp, because there is still such a thing as catch up xp

as far as gold goes, effectively only the scuttle clear is really important.

its actually inefficient to just farm the jungle, compared to heavy ganking with only occationally picking up camps in between.

this is the section from the lol wiki to explain how the xp mechanic on jungle monsters works.

champions receive less experience if the cleared monster camp is lower in level than their own.

Champions gain 10% less experience for each level they are above the camp they are killing. This penalty caps at 50%.

Champions holding jungle items (such as Hunter's Talisman item Hunter's Talisman) receive more experience if the cleared monster camp is higher in level than their own.

The champion receives 50 points of experience for holding the jungle item, on top of 50 more for every level they are below the cleared camp. This bonus caps at 400 bonus, at 7 levels below the camp.

this here in particular means, that there is a safety net for the jungler. if you fall behind in levels due to heavy focus on ganking, youre awarded bonus xp on your next few camps that let you automatically catch back up, no matter the outcome of your ganks.

its the mechanism that rewards ganking junglers who take large breaks between farming camps more over farming junglers, and makes junglers who attempt full clears inefficient and a waste of time.

you can literally fall 2 levels behind by sitting in a lane bush for too long and just catch that up next time you clear a few camps.

if you focus on clearing the jungle too much, you get diminishing returns on your xp gainsm and you dont actually get ahead by farming. so basically this punishes any farming jungler and rewards aggressive ganking junglers.

either way, the respawn timers on camps are generally pretty large, which gives junglers additional time to gank even after clearing a side of the jungle.

as a jungler i can tell you this if the enemy jungler would camp top lane i can just clear his bot lane and gank his bot now i have more gold and exp then him. u cant just sit in a bush becuase u wouldnt get any gold/exp and if u steal exp from ur mid or top they will have less exp. and if u keep ganing with out getting a kill u will set ur lanes behind becuase u would have tanken there exp, and the enemy jungler would have more gold then you becuase he would have clear ur camps and his own. then ganked the oppisite lane to maybe get a kill u cant just camp a lane for ever with out gtetting a kill becuase if u do they will be able to 1v2 you in no time and u will lose a 2v2 vs the enemy top laner and the jungler if u just camp top with out getting kills so u cant really camp a lane with out losing something ur self

do you understand how the xp mechanic works?

like, riot made sure that counterjungling and farming the jungle are inefficient strategies, and ganking lanes to get your own laners ahead of the enetire enemy team is more rewarding than counterjungling or farming.

you get diminishing returns for getting ahead in xp and even in gold now, since you get the debuff when you get more farm than your laners. you cant get additonal gold for holding a lane or catching a wave for your team, if you already farmed "too much".

any xp from camps that you steal from the opposing jungler only temporary set him behind. if you get him to a 3 level disadvantage compared to yourself, he will catch all this back up the next time his camps respawn and he clears two or three camps.

so you have won very little for yourself or your own team, while the guy already got one or two of his lanes a large lead at the price of a level disadvantage that he will catch up within less than 5 minutes.

because he gets a ridicuous amount of bonus xp for being set back in levels.

as far as gold goes, it only partially sets him behind, when he still clears scuttles and his top or bot side jungle, because the fucking thing is worth a 150 gold.

if im not mistaken, there is even still the mechanic on large jungle monsters that make them increase in gold value the longer they have been up without being farmed. this means its not even neccessary to be efficient with your clears and clear your camps as soon as they respawn anymore, like it used to be once upon a time. this gives junglers even more free time to gank lanes, because they dont really lose out on gold.

the jungle used to be a lot about efficient clear pathes, since you wanted to minimize the time that camps were up after respawning, so you could immediately collect the gold and xp and have them respawn as soon as possible. nowdays it really doesnt matter anymore if you just let a camp sit there for 5 minutes and pick it up later.

From what i see he used both his E and Q and a follow up auto for that damage. Doing some math assuming hecarim pressed Q at the time his AD reaches 120. Hecarim base AD level 2 is 68(68.3), he gains 52 bonus ad from runes, passive, celerity(if he has it) his E's max damage is 90+(100% bonus Ad) his Q damage is 55+(70% bonus Ad). E: 90+52=142, Q:55+0.7(52)=91.4 This gives a total of 233 before resistances. Edit: The auto did another 92 damage before his Ad fell back to 80.

SzGamer2273 votes

Yeah that absolutely doesn't add up. A 220 damage crit at level 2 on an ability that is only supposed to do 45 damage is obviously an anomaly. That gank should have done 140 damage, not 320.

Sire Hippington1 votes

his E is supposed to do far more than 45, it scales up to 90+100% bonus ad over the duration, and his passive converts the bonus ms from E into more ad, so it's ~120 damage with no other ad sources.

Despite that, it's obvious that something bugged there, a crit at lvl 2 with only a jungleitem should be impossible for heca, and E+Q+AA+redbuff doing over 400damage at lvl 2 is mathematically not possible.

FabWarlock3 votes

Yeah, hope they look at Hecarim. I've had similar situations in my games as well.

flibitydoo3 votes

Patch 8.16

Hecarim Q base damage increased at later ranks. Q damage ratio increased.

Hecarim is pretty weak currently, but we want to be careful about how we buff him. A bit more extended dps should help him shine in the mid-game without making him into a one-shot monster. Q - Rampage BASE DAMAGE 55/90/125/160/195 ⇒ 55/95/135/175/215 DAMAGE RATIO 0.6 bonus attack damage ⇒ 0.7 bonus attack damage

He's in a bad spot though. Definitely needs buff though

According to Riot, he's apparently weak and not a oneshot monster

O for Orianna3 votes

Riot thinks its balanced tho :)

ForFoxSakes3 votes

It's not a bug. Hecarim does more damage based on move speed from his passive. Good hec players will know to Q at the end of his charge when his move speed gets a massive spike which increases his AD which increase Q damage. He hit with E charge damage and Q damage plus an auto there vs one of the squishiest champs in the game

UnboundHades4 votes

He crit with 0 crit chance its a bug stop trying to defend hec for no reason

Just some math: Hecarim has 127 AD. His E does 90 + 100% AD on a full charge. That would result in 217 damage before mitigation. The video shows 219 damage after mitigation. Something is wrong.

His E does 90 + 100% BONUS Ad on full charge, Hecarim also uses his Q in the video yet we only see once instance of damage so that 219 damage is the total damage of Q and E. Which in this instance is 233 premitigation damage. Edit: Is crit symbol used for enhanced AA's cause that crit symbol is very misleading.

Verxint1 votes

The Q and E should both show separate numbers. Perhaps they didnt, but they really should for clarity.

Personally my big issue with this is that a "full charge" only requires him to move about half of a lane's width.

This is wrong. First Veigar has 22.5 armor which is about 18% DR to physical. Meaning 233 damage would be 191 after armor. So obviously this is false. Second when i did the math i got 59 bonus AD making him do 245 Max E+Q, which would be just over 200 after mitigation. For reference i don't think this was a max E. Third Veigar is just shy of 600 Hp at level one with a D-ring. He is at about 550 when Hec first hits him If Q+E did 219 he would still be at about 320 HP or above half health after the combo, he is at much less then that.

It's a weird glitch that caused him to crit his E for some strange reason.

When i do the math i still get 52 bonus Ad, but i did overlook something about his E that your post led me to recheck: His E does that damage as additional damage so i should have added his auto attack damage in as well, so that combo should actually total 353 before resists, 444 if you count the auto afterwards. Even more if it is indeed 59 bonus Ad like you said but i cant be bothered to figure out who is right or do the resistances.

Which means this was not a bug, just crazy damage from our great rune system.

2 Abilities 1 Of which crit and shouldn't have causing him to do an extra 110ish damage.

Literal IRL Tree1 votes

Since no one seems to understand how this works let me break it down. As Hecarim hit he had 112 (120 while Qing) and generally he had 92. So a bonus of 20 (28) ad. Hecarim damage breakdown- Q 55+19.6 (74.6)+E max dmg 90+20 (110) + Auto damage (112)=304.6. Veigar- 565 HP (including D ring) 22.6 armor so ~ 20% damage reduction 304.6x 0.2=60.92. Making Hecarim do ~ 243 (24 dmg difference is probably my math being slightly off somewhere in the armor % reduction)

On the note of "why did he crit" Hecarim E when (i think only max charge) is shows as a critical strike.

Or (i really don't feel like doing the math for this) Hecarim E doesn't apply the Auto+E dmg and the lethality from im assuming he has Sudden Impact so -7 armor when he did the E+Q dmg which seem to have applied to the same dmg notifier.
