Severe Lag Spikes

For these past two days I started playing League on a regular basis again and I've noticed that I'm getting these terrible lag spikes that last from anywhere from 2 seconds to a minute. My regular ping is around 80-90 and when this happens, I spike from to apparently the 130's, but it easily is a lot more. The game literally becomes unplayable and I'm suddenly playing as Micheal Jackson as my character moonwalks to where ever I click. If that lag spike continues on for longer than 5 seconds, I spike up to around 2k and eventually I remain permanently on "Reconnecting"- and the only thing I can do is close the client and reopen the game. I live on the East coast- New York specifically and I know its not my internet because I literally get 10 ping on every other game I play and never DC.
