Opinions on the New leveling system / Earning blue essence
Im curious to know what people think on the new leveling system. The idea of more levels I really like and keeps you wanting to play the game more, even if its just a little bit. What i'm not too keen on is the way to earn currency now.
In the old system, you would earn between 70ish-120ish ip or around 250 for first win depending on game length (numbers probably aren't exact but close enough). This gave you a steady sense of progression when playing the game and unlocking champs took a long time with how many their were, but didn't feel like a really long time. Now with the new system, you can only get BE when leveling up which can feel pretty bad when you aren't within leveling range as you feel playing the game earned you nothing. When you do level up, you get a decent amount of BE, yet I always feel like it wasn't enough or that I would've earned more in the old system. Some might way that it's easier to get new champs due to getting the shards and being able to unlock them at a disenchanted price which is 100% true, this is faster. However the shard drops are random and if there's a champion you want to get, you have to save up to get them, which goes back to before which is it feels longer to get the champs you actually want.
BE also is used to unlock a lot more things now, not just champs. A lot of stuff in the BE store that came out and also champion masteries which cost quite a bit too much imo. 3250 BE to get a champ to lvl 6 when I could've bought a mid price champ for cheaper is a bit much to me. I think they should honestly increase the amount you get with it being used for more.
I know they were planning to change first win from 575xp to 400xp + 50 BE which I think is a bad trade off tbh
Conclusions: If I were to decide there would be a couple ways to do this
- Either keep 575xp and add the 50 BE onto that or change from 400xp and say 100 BE
- Possibly lower costing of misc. things like champion mastery to not be so expensive
- (What I would like) revert back to old system for gaining currency but keeping leveling system (would not include chests when leveling up)
- For unlocking champions, say every 5 levels you can choose a shard for a champion of your choice???? Although I do see this one being too easy
Maybe i'm just being too greedy over this but it's an honest problem I have about the game now, but everything else about preseason is great minus broken champs/builds (*cough Arey *cough). If anyone even reads this and wants too add anything to this or explain why my points aren't very valid, feel free to comment
