Is matchmaking garbage or is it just me ?

How can u truly climb out of an elo when you get nice win streaks, thus raising your mmr, causing you to be matched against players 1-2 whole divisions higher than you while you still have players in your division on your team. I have been playing well for a few months now but I am simply stuck. Whether it be a legit troll, someone that is elo boosted, smurfs, or outright out skilled opposing teams It seems nothing i can do is ever enough. My team is ranked lower than me or are even unranked( Im silver 1) yet the other team will have a plat 3 golds and maybe one silver. I play well in most of my games granted it is not a complete stomp but It feels awful as I sit here playing doing the absolute most to try and win while my team is either just bad or does not want to win. I think autofill specifically is a huge problem particularly in low elos. Idk im silver trash or whatever u wanna say but if anyone wants to offer some friendly advice im all ears.
