Platinum's shouldn't play vs Silvers in ranked games.

I recently played a ranked game vs an enemy team with two platinum's and three golds. While my team has two silvers and three golds.Now I would like to know how in the world that is fair every enemy player was higher ranked than their lane counter parts how am I suppose to win this kind of game please can someone explain to me why this happens it this hopefully their is just a problem with match making and that this is not intentional. Please up vote so more can see this.

So I looked at the game he is referring to.

Team 1: Silver / Gold / Gold / Silver / Gold Team 2: Gold / Gold / Plat / Gold / Plat.

My question is ... I didn't think a Silver 2 could be matched with a Plat 5... Just like I didn't think a Gold Player could be Queue'd with a Bronze player?

good practice tbh.

Sure the end result is most likely unfair and gonna be to the plats but atleast you get to see how you matchup against the better players,

think of it like going hardcore mode on a game.

oh god yes, cause even if someone on my team deserves to climb from silver to plat does not mean I should be roflstomped in my lane because I do not deserve to be a plat with my current skill

as usual, another silver player who doesnt understand how the ranked system works. MMR is what determines who plays, not rank.

Just because it can be explained doesn't mean it's how it should work. It's redundant to have both ranks and MMR. If someone is playing like a plat but is currently in silver, they should be able to easily get out of silver as that is not the elo they belong in, but if their MMR makes it so that they're matched against other plats, while still in silver, then how are they supposed to get out of silver? Why should you be held back from getting where you belong? It just makes the climb unnecessarily grindy.

Good news is you're one of the winningest silvers, then. Bad news is yeah, you'll go up against that.

IMO if your mmr dictates you should be playing with golds/plats, you should be gold/plat. I mean I go up against diamonds in gold now which doesn't feel kosher.

Not intentional, but it has to do with MMR i do believe. Someone can drop in MMR more than their rank does, and people can climb in MMR faster than their rank climbs.

Or one or two of those golds brought a plat buddy. If i think of it correctly (though i could be wrong, so please dont quote me)....:

Golds can only be paired with silvers and plats on their team. Silvers only bronze and gold. Plats golds and diamonds.

This means that if a gold player brought a platnium friend, then the plat could potentially never get matched with silvers on their team. Thus resulting in all golds and plats because those are the only 2 ranks that fit the rank requirements.

Ask for a refund from ur booster saying they got your mmr too high and you can't win in a elo you don't belong

From your comment i am assuming the OP is gold?

Maybe they can play against the plats and golds easy enough. There was also silvers on their team. Its a team thing, sometimes one team just does not have the cooperation and communication that they need.

1,439 MMR Silver 1 Normal. Now Your MMR depends on how you play!

Note he also has had no previous ranks.

The Plat Players:

Platinum 5 71 LP / 305W 309L Win Ratio 50% Corki's Captains

Platinum 5 52 LP / 158W 165L Win Ratio 49% Dr. Mundo's Commanders

At first I saw OP's winrate and was blown away. Then noticed he had 15 games under his belt. Riot fucked up.

You made a smurf account, got finished with placements and have a 61% win rate. The system is trying to gauge where you actually belong, which is also why your LP gains are so high for every win.

IDK why you're making this thread, this probably isn't your first smurf account and this is how it always works.

When I only had 15 games under my belt I had closer to an 80% win ratio.

I have yet to have to play with any plats. I believe the highest I have played against was a couple of Gold 5's as a SIlver 4.

The original OP got completely screwed in his match making, and Riot needs to fix it. Silver 2 should be up against no higher than gold 1. And that is still a stretch.

It is how it works though, either you duo'ed with someone too low of the account you have had a bad mmr to start with (it goes off normals if there is no prior data). I've seen several silver league accounts playing in plat (not the norm but it isn't extremely rare). They were abovipusly smurfs and their mmr was sky high, generally those accounts skip divisions as well.
