I legit never see Kalista anymore.

I've decided to start playing ADC as a change from mid lane, so I went to my collection to see all the ADC's that I own ( I have them all with the exception of Xayah and Kai'sa, being the most broken ADC's from what I've seen, funnily enough). I hovered through all of them until I reached Kalista. That's when I thought to myself ''Holy, where have you been all this time?''. I honestly cannot remember the last time I've had a Kalista in my games but I can 100% say that it was before season 8 and I've played almost 3 - 5 games everyday since the start of the season. I got curious and wanted to see some of her statistics:

JESUS. That win rate is hard to look at. It pains me that one of the most interactive ADC's in the game is doing so poorly. Why should she be gated this far back? Because of the LCS? I can understand why she would be a problem there because Kalista does require good communication with her Support and it makes it even better if her entire team can play around her but what about SoloQ? Why should the average player not be able to play her without having to DuoQ with their support if they want to succeed?

Thanks for reading my post. That's all I have to say about the state of Kalista, I'd like to hear what you think about her though.

I legit never see Kalista anymore.

Good.

Get her a new passive before undumpstering her. Whenever she was meta she made the game absolutely miserable for any melee. Take a page from Yorick. Leave her dumpstered until you fix her bullshit kit

Because Riot have stated that they've given up on her.

She's on a list together with Azir and Ryze that basically say "Competitive use only"

Isn't that the champion that gets a dash every single auto attack, another dash on her Q, and a knock up on her ultimate, and a slow on her E, and a farming tool on her e, and a stacking damage merchanic on her E, a multi-stacking feature on her E, infinity scaling on her e, the same e ability that stacks with her Q that can also kill somebody, puncture into the next opponent, and then can be E'd for free after a kill, and then has a free ghost that can scan into the enemy jungle for free, spot them for several seconds, require 2 attacks to kill (RIP Zyra), lasts several minutes, does percent health damage, a free 1-UP on her ultimate to save her support, Two hours later

Yeahhhhhhhhh I'm gonna have to say that the champion was made for a game that didn't take into consideration of a power budget.

Her kit and itemization is fine. She just

-doesn't get skin development, -isn't as user friendly as point and click adcs -often doesn't get a dedication support to synergize with it.

But if you bother to look at her LCS play, she's the #1 damage dealer by almost double damage.

Like Quinn , her play rate is more due to her being aesthetically unpleasing, than her kit or potential.

I mean..... how many no skill adcs are there?

Ezreal Caitlyn Draven Jinx Kaisa MissFortune Twitch Vayne Varus Xayah

And none of them give you Carpal Tunnel.

This is really late, but I think Riot is super traumatized from the Censer meta. Kallista had crazy good damage, unrivaled team fight mobility, could save her support, had a nuke on her Rend, and had a support babysitting her on top of that, She had 100% presence in a World Championship, and SHE WAS NEVER PICKED ONCE. 80 bans, 0 picks. It was that bad. So Riot rightfully slammed her with the nerf hammer and probably gave up on her. But It's season 9, and shes started seeing Pro play again without being busted :).

But you can see her WR is actually quite high in the hands of people with 50-200 game with Kalista under their belt, means the champion is mechanically demanding but very rewarding

until they make that passive fair for melee's (more than half the roster) and puts the down time back on the e stacking she needs to stay sejuani'ed

That's not the worst I've seen, not remotely.
