Address problem with people leaving games or rage quitting

This is something that is really starting to frustrate me.

The Remake system allows a team to push the eject button should a player happen to be unable to connect to the game from the start. After 2 minutes, if the game recognises a play has not connected, the client offers the chance to remake and this window elapses after 5 mins.

HOWEVER

As I'm sure many, if not all, people have experienced before in the past, if a player decides to, for whatever reason, leave the game after the remake window elapses (be it a disconnect, rage quit or even just leaving because they have something better to do) the game then offers no escape for those still present in the game. Now I know good and well that it is more than possible for a team to win a game as 4 players against 5, however this is most often in a situation where the game has already been in progress for a reasonable amount of time, most likely past the laning phase. If the player happens to leave early in the game, it puts the team at a DISGUSTINGLY HUGE disadvantage. The enemy team are more likely to overwhelm players by ganking and ambushing, this leads to snowballing and an eventual loss.

To get to the point: This is not fair, even if the leaver gets a sanction. The victim team still ends up losing LP after an unbalanced game because of one player.

This needs to be given a work around in some way or another. Perhaps a system similar to that in Overwatch Ranked play, if a player disconnects, after a certain amount of time (say 10-15 minutes), if the player does not reconnect the players on the victim team wont have to lose LP after a match that was clearly in the enemy teams favour.

TL;DR: It's not fair that if a player leaves a mid progress ranked match, the remaining players still have to fight on as if it's still a balanced game. And then lose LP after the biased match has ended.

actually that's not 100% true

it does offer escape but it is the same escape offered to each team starting at 15 min in

with a player gone, the requirements to surrender are lowered, granted at 15 you still need a unanimous vote to bork out and then at 20 you can run away with a 3/1 turn

but they do need to consider adding in a secondary system for matches were a player has disconnected before 15mins, and hasn't returned after x amount of time

as to what that system would be, that's beyond me

Your solution can be exploited so it wouldnt work

As one discussion has said, catch onto people abusing the system. Another option could be to just reduce the lp loss though I'm not sure what it would be. I have been in a game where a galio left right after the 2 min mark and I lost lp( stuff like this really takes a toll on your mental). The only issue is that a system like this is so easily exploitable that Riot would have to do their job, and I don't really think they want to. It would be nice, but people are stupid and we can't have nice things because of those boosters and co. who want the shiny medals without having to actually learn to play the game, and riot would rather have lots of skins than do something like this.

HI there. this is the first time i actually sign in to comment. I have been experiencing this farm to much like an everyday thing. I have to deal with players quitting, or simply just inting and refusing to FF keeping us trapped in game

I keep losing LP for free and i feel so helpless cause i cant do anything about it. Something has to be done. I dont really have much free time like i used to. I work 10hr shifts and i value my time. I like the idea of having a system where i dont lose LP cause a quitter.
