My thought on why people aren't having fun in League.

It really is about the people you play with. I play League with my 4 best friends in the world who've all gone to different colleges than me. That means every game of League I get to play with them is precious, and i've never once stopped enjoying League. Sure I don't really play ranked so I don't deal with that side of the community, but it's so much easier to have fun when you're playing with people you enjoy playing with. League is a social game, it's why I refuse to play if none of my friends are on.

The 'decline in fun' is due to a chain reaction. Once one player quits for any given reason, their friends subsequently stop enjoying the game without them and quit as well. The sad truth is that players quitting League is inevitable due to how long of a lifetime it has. It's kind of amazing that we spend so much time one map trying to reach the exact same goal every time, and it only gets boring to us after thousands of games. I've been lucky to have my group of friends stay together, but I understand how the game loses a lot of its magic when you don't play with friends.

So my suggestion? Go make friends! I know it sounds cheesy and stupid, but it may be just the thing that reignites your spark.

What makes league unfun for me is just the general community and the game itself.

Yea, having a good time with friends is nice but its not as enjoyable with them when either the guy not in your premade is toxic to us who are just enjoying ourselves, or the enemy team is BMing saying awful things cause we're having fun over trying to be more skillful. There is not "lets just have fun and enjoy ourselves!" when there's alway a triggering element.

Additionally, the game itself gets frustrating. Even in norms nobody is having fun playing against a champion that gives them cancer / yasuo and is more easily going to tilt the player.

The obvious solution is draft pick the annoying stuff, and just /mute all with your premade talking in a communication app and do whatever you guys want, but there's still some unstatisfying stuff.

I think the raptors in the season 7 jungle single handedly almost made me quit jungle, just because they're so tedious and unsatisfying to fight, they feel way too bulky and pressuring to do. This is the kind of unnecessary stuff that makes league feel a bit cheesy at times and unfun for me. Seems like no big deal to cry over 1 jungle camp but it just hangs over my head how much better the season 6 jungle was every time I walk past them. Why do I keep playing? I just enjoy the good feeling when I do something right or achieve a goal, not a lot of video games have important goals like league and that's satisfying.
