I just have to say something, this has gone on far too long...(involves Honor, Runes, Ranked)

Hi there. I've been playing League of legends on one account, no smurf ever, with one PBE account for 7 years, since 2010 season 1 when LeBlanc came out. I have played roughly 1k ranked this season. I have played over 3k total ranked games on PBE and live. I have also played over 6k games in any mode combined. I have won three tournaments and have earned the Triumphant Ryze skin. I've had every single rune in the game for multiple seasons. I've acquired every champion including Rakan and Xayah. I have collected over 2k honor including every category, with over 1.3k in teamwork alone. I was place b5 in season 2 with 5 provisional games to start, and went 0-5. It's been an absolute struggle to climb ever since. I was bronze and could not climb out until 3 seasons ago, where I first became silver. I've been silver ever since, and am trying to get to Gold on my live account. I have had provisionals where I had won 8-10 games unranked from silver 4 and dropped over 600 MMR into bronze 5, where I had to start to climb to silver. This has happened to me multiple times. 9-10 provisionals from silver to bronze 5. In fact, after season 2, I've been placed in low bronze every season, if not bronze 5 with 0 lp. I started s4 a few seasons back in PBE, and I climbed to Gold from there. I have spent over 1500 dollars on my live account. I've never let anyone else play on my account.

I can honestly say I'm the kindest, most helpful summoner I can think of. I never flame, I give suggestions, and I always try to win without being even remotely toxic every game since season 1. I Always have followed the Summoner code. The only times I've afk'd was Microsoft update issues, lack of power (went out randomly), blatant game bugs, and the internet company was working on the internet in my area out of nowhere. I never once left after 7 years because of rage, disinterest, tilt, or any other reason.

There's a bit of my backstory in League, now for my points and suggestions.

The big points/suggestions I would like to discuss:

  • A hard reset is necessary. This is out of control. It will give EVERYONE, including those with very high ranks, a chance at a REAL climb. If they are a high rank and you do a hard reset, they prove their skills and get to challenger. If they've been consistently a low rank, a hard reset will give them a chance to actually place better, and with that, a chance to climb stronger. It's been 7 seasons, and it's about that time. There are highly, highly skilled individuals who cannot get out of silver due to DC's, blatant toxicity, and teammates who fail to communicate. Please consider this. Whatever you guys have to do to get this done, such as after the hard-reset giving those incentive who were diamond or above a chance for at least plat to start their climb, and anyone below diamond gets a chance at gold if 10 provisionals are won in a row. There has to be incentive.

  • There must be something given for those who, in the previous honor system, acquired a reasonable amount of honor. Whether it be an instant bonus to the new honor system for them, such as a fast lvl-up for at least one honor rank, or a nicely-made icon, or an exclusive skin, or at least something, because taking away everyone's honor to start "fresh" is completely not fair to those who spent a ton of their time collecting honor after solid games/performances.

  • There also should be at the very minimum an IP refund for every rune purchased, or at least a partial refund of IP. It is downright robbery that I had used a majority of my IP from season 1-5 to obtain every rune in the game, and after one of the upcoming patches, all of that IP invested will have gone to utter waste. Again, for those who collected every rune before you guys scrap it entirely for another system, grant an icon, give some IP back, a skin, or at least one token of gratitude for buying them all. The amount of games you have to play to be able to buy every rune in the game is very substantial. Please also consider this.

Love the game, always have. Am I completely addicted because I want Gold at least one time on my live account? Absolutely.

You've been Silver since season 3...didn't you ever try to get better? I started at the end of season 5, I'm Platinum 3 now

We ended up with an accidental hard reset in this past preseason for a while until they reset it again. It was frustrating for everyone. It boiled down to rnjesus rolling the most higher-elo players on your team and they would proceed to crush everyone else so that they were grey-screen all game. It wasn't fun for either side.

No idea what they have planned for this, sorry.

They are 100% going to give everyone something specific relevant to the quantity of resources spent on their runes. There's been talk of refunds among other things, but the exact decision has not been announced yet. Should be soon.

If you're truly a high diamond player, you aren't stuck in silver unless you just aren't playing many games.
Yes, a true gold player can be stuck in Silver or a Silver be stuck in Bronze because the system isn't precise enough, nor accurate enough that there isn't some overlap. But if you're truly high plat or diamond level, you should be out of bronze and silver fairly quickly. And i say this from observing such high players against lower ones. A player of true diamond ability can pretty much dance around and use his taunts and laughs while sending Silver players back to the fountain. Not after he sends them back to the fountain. Right in the middle of fighting them. He or she will not be stuck in silver long.

As for the other things yeah there probably should be some sort of compensation for those that spent a lot of ip on runes. but what? Rune spending usually goes hand in hand with champ spending. So those with literally every rune probably at this point don't need the champs that can be hand with IP. Maybe a special skin or icon or ward or something?

As for honor, uh no biggie.
