Bans, Trolls, Smurfs, and lock in. Riot, we need to talk... I got unfairly banned by a troll!!!

So i got ekko a when he came out and he is a really fun champion. Ekko can go any lane and even jungle, but riot what's this i called mid and someone locked in ekko and went mid??? WHAT!!!! This really pisses me off because i've come home from school to get on and play a good game i know. Next thing i know, im banned for 14 days. let me explain how this happened thus far. First i look for a game game found i quickly type mid because there is always competition to call your lane (also another thing i hate about solo q) and im about to click ekko, Nope someone clicks ekko and tells me that they are going mid, or top, or bottom, or jungle etc. I suck it up and change to another lane. i have not one one single game today and one of the main reasons is because our team doesn't have communication. one game out of the many i played, or the last game i played i guess was a game where i called mid and locked in ekko. i didn't see anyone complaining so i relaxed until the game began and used my phone. Little did i know that the jungle changed his mind and decided to go mid and out of nowhere an anivia does too. The game begins and i see three people going mid, confused i tell them to leave my lane that i called it and then we have a discussion.

Now is when i bring up Trolls. This anivia is a really tricky person and she get's mad at me so she goes on all chat and starts ACUSSING me of some rude things.

  1. Sexual harassment
  2. Rude sayings
  3. Racism/Racial slurs

This got me pretty angry and i wasn't enjoying my fun day of league

This anivia started telling people on the other group to report me and i started telling the other group, "no she's lying. I love league and i wouldn't do such a thing." Soon after she decides to make it _Emotional_ she said that one i ~~ found out~~ (note: i had no idea that she was or if she even is a girl) and she said "it's so hard for me to play this game anymore" like if everyone she played with apparently told her to suck their **** (I did not do that but that is one of the things she said i did) I started begging the other team not to believe her lies and not to ban me. I had done nothing wrong. Soon after i lose the game (three people went mid) and i call mid when an ekko decided to go top, i claimed, "can i go ekko i called mid _ please_" The man locks in which at that point i snapped because i was already not enjoying my ~~fun~~ day of league which i did not pick a champion because i got really mad. at this point i searched for another game with a leaver buster  and seconds after i get claimed to have been banned for 14 days. league is the only game i play which i have spent lots of money on to be playing like this. i have not played one game without some guy talking smack or crap since 2013-2014 when i first got the game. I feel terrible for snapping at the person who picked ekko although i tend to snap at people, but im not happt that i got banned because some troll decided to lie about me. If you want i can give you the champion's name, the one that trolled me.

That was all for banning and trolls!

My next point are smurfs and lock in.

I have no problem at all with smurfs because it's a good way of figuring out your actuall skill level, until they start calling you bad and talking bad about you and the team. This goes along one of my points of trolls, smurfs like that are considered more trollers than players, just for the fact that they talk bad about someone.

My next point is lock in. if you call a lane and some later calls that lane and locks in after you, there is no top, bottom, mid, or jungle for you. Lock in also doesn't contribute to let's say calling a lane but someone picks you're character and goes a different lane. Please fix lock in because that's another way for people to troll you.

The troll from that game was Gratch XIll or Gratch Xlll

Funny thing, I see posts like this quite often and I always end up wondering a few things.

  1. Why were you talking back to anyone in chat. It's ok to say things like "my bad" "sorry" "dragon up in 30 seconds" "I'll get blue and then gank" "I need help mid, this LeBlanc is better than me." It is not ok or good to argue with anyone in chat about anything.

  2. Why were you obsessed with who to play and where. I know that everyone wants to play mid and carry and faceroll everyone, but that won't happen every game. My advice is to "let it go" when you don't get your role. Heck I have a huge love/hate relationship with the jungle role. I'm good at it and at one point nearly mained it, but at the same time I find it boring to play all the time. Yet last night when there were 2 people in my ranked match who wanted to support, I pulled up my socks and took to the jungle as Amumu.

  3. Why did you complain? First thing I found on about League, there are some good people here, but there are also a surprising number of selfish jerks. Complaining to them is only going to have them bait you to see if they can get you a 14 day ban for verbal abuse. And it appears you did fall into that trap.

I get a feeling you are in too much of a hurry to play the new champ and forgot that patience will be far more valuable to you. Be patient rather than complaining next time.

As for "lock in" I'll complain to myself or to my Team speak friends when it happens, but never say a word about it in the League chat. And I just work around it. There is not much you can do about it. But if it really bothers you play draft. It's a lot harder to lock-in there.

Hey thank you for writing this and this really opened my eyes. you're right there is no reason to complain i maybe should have waited a week or even two to play ekko, the hype right now is too intense and everyone wants to play him. You have a really good point but you did have a flaw in that. I didn't abuse anivia, she was lying and also i got banned for an unfair reason although i did feel i deserved a report for the one where i snapped. Every time i get reported i always learn a bit more surley if i could have played the next game i would have been more calm and suck it up. Now im stuck waiting 14 days when my friend is already my level and i'll be left behind while they play ranked games. Im so stupid, but you made me realize why i was stupid. Thank you for that response. League on!

Ill make a secondary account and try and get to lvl 5 so i can play with my friends very soon. until 14 days are up. This time i'll play like a true Summoner!

I hope that you'll come back and play better than ever. I can imagine that 14 days without league will be a bit frustrating.

and I didn't say that you had abused Anivia, only that they baited you trying to get you to say something they could report as abuse to try to get you banned. There are a number of people who play that game, I've even run into it a few times which is why I try to be quiet in chat. I might compliment someone on a skin or like last night thank the enemy Vayne after her condemn pushed me out of a team fight and allowed me to escape, but I try to avoid anything that can be seen as a personal attack.

I see the chat as a way to communicate things like:

Dragon in 30 seconds

Nunu no ult

oom

Backing to get Sightstone

Let me finish blue and I'll come gank mid.

or other quick and simple messages. Things that will help your team.

I do occasionally have fun with it, but again I try to keep it friendly and positive. (these are often in all chat)

[game where 3 enemy players chased me(Nami) and killed me, but I led them into the rest of my team who quickly wiped them out]

Why did you chase me, didn't you know I was the bait? (a bunch of fish puns from both teams players followed)

[game last night where Nunu came to gank bot as I was playing Zyra. I was caught by Nunu only for Vayne's condemn to push me out of his ult and allow me to run to my turret.}

Thanks Vayne you saved me.

[game where I was jungling and Pantheon had ganked me at my red during my first clear. Later I caught him at his red and killed him]

Hey man i just wanted to say that i have become a better and more sports-manlike league of legends player and better overall player. Your are one fine summoner that deserves to play.

If my team has an autolocker, or a person that locks in a roll that someone else has called and is like "lol I called the role suck it noob" or something like that. I will troll the hell out of the game. it's at that point that it's no longer fun for me to play and I don't want to wait 5 minutes to play another game when I can just intentionally feed, not have riot do anything to me for it, and get some IP because some troll decided to auto lock.

Does this hurt the rest of my team, yes, but they always blame the autolocker for the loss anyway and I've had some members of my team join me in the feeding just to make that auto lockers day terrible.
